Such a stunning piece, loved it all the way through ☺☺

I use the copper tape with silver back too when you can see through the crystal to the back of the tape, but I do also notice it doesn’t stick as well as the regular tape! When I’m done I use BLACK patina liquid to stain the metal dark and then use a dremel polisher to shine it up to give the jewelry an antiqued look. I notice if I brush the patina on when the piece is still hot it makes the piece really dark and cool looking. I make crystal jewelry for our little store in Indiana. 😊 The green foam is a good idea to help hold pieces while you’re working. I use the helping hand tool but it doesn’t work for everything. Yay!😊🎉 ❤ I love it so much! Those big glass beads are so interesting. It would be neat if you could cut them in half too,...like cobachons. I haven't tried the black or silver backed copper tapes, so it's really good to know that they aren't as sticky. That would frustrate me so much. Some people might not like it when things aren't perfect, like a little crooked, or if you can see copper through it, or whatever,...but I like the nuances of imperfection. It's nice when a piece turns out exactly how you wanted it to, but right now I am really loving the little things that aren't perfect too. I think it can sometimes really add to the piece, especially the more organic, raw, and handmade ones we like to create. You're doing amazing at making and posting regular videos too. I don't know how you manage doing all you do, but you're incredible! ❤ Right as you were speaking of it being spring, with cicadas,... I look outside to find five inches of snow and blizzard like snow coming down,...well, more blowing sideways.🥶 Spring sounds delightful! Lol😅 Love the video, and the ring, and you just bringing your ray of sunshine self out to share it all with us.😊 Just this morning, I went and picked up a big collection of metal stamps. I found them on FB yard sale site for my area ( literally right down the block from my house). I couldn't believe it came with three full alphabet sets in different fonts, and three full number sets in different fonts, as well as 14 design stamps, bench block with a rubber base, stamping hammer, ring and bracelet bending pliers, a bracelet bender, and a good assortment of blanks, plus some other extras in there. Got a screaming good deal too, it was so cheap I nearly felt like a thief,...but they just wanted to be rid of them. I'm pretty excited to try them tonight. Definitely don't want to just make stamped jewelry, but I know they will get good use, even if it's mostly for makers marks and metal labels to add to my art pieces. of course I enjoy watching your videos, I just wish I was better with soldering. I'm having a hell of a time getting different metals to stick. I guess you could say . . . I don't (yet) know what the hell I am doing!! I am trying hard to NOT throw this soldering iron out the window!!! You give me hope. I wish there was a way I could show you what's not working ~ so frustrating! I'm stubborn, and I won't give up! Now, back to . . . it.

Lol,...I forgot!😅😂 I was going to say that if you're getting more of those glass beads, that you ought to break out your rotary tool and some diamond bits and just try carving one. I tried it with a shallow dish of water and a sponge on a few small black stones from the dollar tree, and they're fun to do with simple designs. Just an idea.😊

This video is so informative! Thank you! Is it possible to solder copper tape only on a small area of a flat ceramic disk and attach the ring or does it have to actually wrap around the ring in order for the ceramic to attach properly onto a silver ring?

Hi, I’ve been wanting to get into soldering and have bought all the supplies and started but I seem to have an issue I can’t solve. The solder won’t go smoothly onto the copper tape, I’ve tried 2 different fluxes but neither work. The one you recommended in one of your videos unfortunately isn’t available here in Germany, do have any other recommendations I could try? The solder wire only applies in blobs and it makes it very hard to cover the surface and from my research the most likely cause is the flux

(Facebook and my Iphone is how I communicate) then I thought . . .'Gretchen, start from square 1 ~ follow the tutorial ~ and don't miss a step'. Guess what ... I got that shit to flow ! ! LOL Now my next learning curve is to figure out why at times I can't get the solder already put down to accept another decorative piece (a round ball of solder) "flux is my friend, a clean tip is my friend, temp setting is my friend, . . . a process of learning ~ and God knows, I want to know everything RIGHT AWAY!!
