theres quite a few comments about how i got some references wrong. these videos are just a first impression of the character. sometimes i do research beforehand but at the time of making this video i did not have much tf2 knowledge. i just started playing the game and wanted to make a video on a character from a game i had an interest in. i did take the feedback seriously tho, for the other tf2 characters i made videos on i asked some friends for help before hand. i really enjoy the element of surprise when trying a character for the first time so it felt more like work and less like fun when i did that, but hopefully the other videos are more enjoyable because of it. writing these triggered comments feels like a pretty easy way to discourage someone from entering the tf2 community by shaming them over their lack of knowledge on a character. but i know the most salty ppl are the reddit losers anyways so stay triggered LMAO

1:45 did you just not pay attention to the last few seconds? It clearly did 4% per rocket and you're wearing the gunboats, notable by the fire effects on the feet exclusive to that item. They're also notable for reducing damage from blast jumping. Mantreads are the stomp given they literally allow such a thing in game. The slide is probably a reference to an animation. This has been another segment of me knowing way too much about something, kinda surprised i know this much about tf2 for having joined this year and having spent no money.

2:19 he slams his grenade into the opponent, and at 7:04 its the "COME HERE CUPCAKE" equalizer tauntkill where he blows himself (and his opponents) up with a grenade also at 6:08 i believe the red with brown helmet skin is a reference to his colouration in the comics? or maybe just toon shading in general also at 7:20 its not a medkit but rather a power canteen from the MvM mode

If u think about it, the neutral air cud actually the a market gardener ref cuz at 9:07 when he hits the cube with the shovel, it does a crit, which is what the market gardener does in the original game, being doing cries if u hit someone with it in the air

The downtilt can be an interpretation of how soldier uses the Manntreads. It's not a horizontal slide in game but he 100% kicks with both feet like that when you goomba stomp.

fun fact about soldier in tf2: the reason the rocket jumper weapon doesnt hurt him when he rocket jumps because he doesnt believe it will since he named it rocket jumper, theres nothing special about the launcher, he just doesnt believe itll hurt
