A lovely presentation. Dogs and people literally evolved together in certain ways. There is a psychological bond there that people still don't fully understand.

Omg,this was not only wonderful but quite poignant for me . My older brother ( now deceased ) was a Marine who served two tours of duty in the Vietnam Conflict,before he became a Jarhead he raised and trained German Shepard’s when we were growing up. On his second tour of duty he found a German Shepard puppy that he fell in love with and Vice versa ,he was going to bring her home my mom was going to arrange it,but the pup ended up getting killed so you can see why this made me happy and sad at the same time ,I’m very happy for this soldier and his dog.

He sounds like a dad. Worried she wouldn't remember him, and how much bigger she's grown. Sounds like he's talking about his daughter. I love furbabies

An enemy sniper probably saw him rescuing the dog and the sniper was just like "you know what I'll let you live".

What a stress relief that pup must have been for the squad. Animals are wonderful and to think how terrified the pup had to have been with all the explosions that distroyed the area she was found

This makes me think every unit in a war zone should be given a dog to boost the morale. There are a lot of homeless dogs in war stricken areas that need help and in turn can help soldiers with their mental and psychological struggles.

So many stories like this and everyone of them brings me to tears, I'm overjoyed for the both of you!

Soldier A : "Uhh guys, I need backup" Soldier B-E : "What for?" Soldier A : "I found a puppy" Soldier B-E : *Say no more*

You think you can just show me a handsome, heroic man who saves puppies and NOT EXPECT ME TO FALL IN LOVE?!

This dog has traveled to more countries then I could even imagine to go to. 🐶💞🍀

Stories like this one is the reason why I still have hope for our country and the world. I would much rather hear about this kind of story than the other negative bullcrap that the media has been trying to force down our throats. I have a sepiatone photo we found after my grandfather died, it's him, as very young man (22) on duty in North Africa in World War Two. He is wearing, shorts, boots and his gunner's helmet and holding a little puppy to his chest and waving one paw at the camera. I asked my grandmother about it a few years later and she started to cry " That's Bibi! Oh my goodness where did you find that! Before we married, when I was a nurse and he was being cared for when he was wounded. He said 'I found a puppy in Beersheba, I took care of him until we came to Tunisia. He became the battalion mascot but I smuggled him back to Australia with me in my kit bag after I was wounded. I need you to help me get him to my parent's house before they send me back." And then, he opened the bag under his bed and showed her the dog. So she helped him, she took the dog that night to his parents house in Western Sydney, explained who she was and what their son had asked of her. Two years later, when he returned once more from a second tour in south east asia, he found her again (she had given his parents her address and told them if they needed anything to contact her.) He asked her to marry him. She said yes (well, obviously...) She said as soon as she knew he had rescued that dog and smuggled him half way around the world on a ship to keep him, that she loved him for his kind heart. They still had Bibi when my oldest uncle was born. She never knew that he had that photo, or he'd kept it for so long. Just a nice family story I thought i'd share.

Second time I've watched this, many months apart, and it's still gold, pure gold!

I met Sean in London a couple of years ago, we got chatting and he mentioned he has just launched a book about rescuing a dog from Syria. So I told him I'd buy the book and read it. I would highly recommend reading it. Its an excellent and honest reminder of what our Service men and women have to fight mentally, and its makes his story with Barrie even more heartwarming. Its called Barrie if you fancy it.

As a Veteran's mom I live this. A stray abandoned kitten did something for my son that I couldn't. Our cat's name is Merlin and I owe him so muvh. He is our little magic man. I believe he was a God send to ease my son's suffering. Cannot overstate how important animals are to Veterans recovery of self. God bless.

Never underestimate how an animal companion can help someone out when they’re in a bit of a bad place emotionally/psychologically. Sometimes a four-legged friends like a cat or a dog hell even a bird can help us cheer up.

Oh, my goodness, my heart just jumped out of my chest, we need more men like you in the world who have so much compassion and love for animals. I'm so glad you saved her and I'm so glad she saved you, I know exactly what you mean, unfortunately, my dog and my cat has passed away, I really do need to get another animal, I'm now in a wheelchair, and when my cat was still alive, who was my little girl honestly, if I was in pain, she always knew it and would comfort me, and if I was crying, she would come to me immediately, they really do help so much, and I'm so appreciative that I had her in my life, I'm so happy, y'all found each other, this made me so incredibly happy, and it made my night. Thank you for sharing your story.

That's the hardest thing with saving animals. It's so easy to get attached with them & then when they have to be returned to their rightful owners or adopted out/permanently homed, the separation anxiety & depression that sets in when they leave your house is crushing.Still,I'll never turn my back on an animal in need

It's crazier how a animal such as a dog has such an affect on people and their behaviors. They domesticated us not the other way around.
