The point isn't that he was spared, it's why he was spared (so Zero could have another Big Boss out there). Losing 9 years of his life. Still preferable to being killed that night. He got off pretty lucky with his 9 year nap. Brainwashing. To be convinced that he is better than he was. Boo hoo. And lastly living as a decoy, as someone better than he was. Again, boo hoo. There's no case to be made that anyone should feel sorry for Venom.

@@2diabolicalIn MGS4 Solid I think says Big Boss taught Solid Snake CQC but Solid Snake preferred not to use it in the earlier games. Was it Venom snake or the real Big Boss Naked Snake that taught him CQC another plot hole?

yea but konami immediately retconned it with mgsv release at the end mission the man who sold the world you see a cassete labeled Operation Intrude N313/man who sold the world absolutely confirming that the big boss who died in mg1 was venom mg2 was big boss who got stitched together after the events of mg2 with solidus and liquid parts to then show up in mgs4 and say oooh you beat me twice when in reality it was once because venom not only wasnt a thing outside of lore but in lore hes suppose to be a perfect body double besides the lack of an arm and horn

also also to add on to that the entire goal of mgsv is to make an army and gather soldiers to diamond dogs which later ends up turning into a version of outer heaven off screen after the credits roll
