For the price, the " GRINGOT TS" sticker is unforgivable. How did that get passed any kind of quality control.

I love the sorcerer's stone in this set. It's the exact same piece and color as the one in the classic first wave mirror and Voldemort set. Gives me fuzzy and fluffy nostalgic feelings.

I still maintain that sets over the 200ish mark should have no stickers. Especially when they’re 18+ collectors sets. They’re often a deal breaker for me. There’s just no excuse for stickers in such expensive sets.

I like other themes more than Harry Potter, but this set is really unique. David made an excellent review, I am just going to add one thing I find very appealing. It is very difficult to capture weird angles with Lego, most sets are all straight lines and right angles. This set really elevates Lego to a different level with the quirkiness of the angles and the overall architecture, and the uniquely appealing diorama design. This set tells a story just by looking at it! I am seriously thinking buying it even though i may not have to buy another Lego for many months afterwards 😅

Is there a way to either cut the sticker or put them closer together for the Gringo “ts” bank to be not as awkward?

Really love the vertical stackable design of all this! It just works so well in so many ways. You can display the "basement" and building, display it separately, display it with the rest of Diagon Alley. Incredible.

the fact that they don't put only printed pieces, despite it not really being that difficult for lego, in these extremely expensive collector edition sets is disappointing and somewhat cheap of lego considering their self proclemation that they're a premium product, but other cheaper brick products have way more printed pieces in even their cheap sets

My intention is to have this piece with the Diagonne Alley but I intend to raise the alley to the level of Gringotts and leave the subterranean part as attached and place in the centre of the 4 feet wide table with the School and other pieces running along the front. Separated by height I think this will differentiate the 2 parts of the Harry Potter range

Personally I think Lego should have just made a huge Gringotts bank with more teller booths and more detail because if you take off the Gringotts to display with the Diagon alley set ( which I think most people would want to do) then what do you do with the lower half? It looks pretty lame just having it sit by itself without the bank on top. Huge missed opportunity on Lego's part to make a BIG UCS style Gringotts with full interior and detail.

YYEEEEESSS!! I have been wanting to see a review for this set for SO LONG! This is the one few hundred dollar Lego set that I think I will get as a centerpiece to my very modest Lego Harry Potter collection. It's a very important location I don't have that's scaled to minifigures, has amazing functionality, looks breath-taking, and contains lots of exclusive pieces and desirable figures. Best Harry Potter set by far! Finally, a huge 18+ Lego set that isn't just big for the sake of being big, but big for the functionality! I mean, it comes with a dragon! How cool is that?!

Marvel, DC, and Star Wars are all asking Lego "Which one of us is your favorite theme?" Lego: "Oh, I love you all equally." After those three leave, Lego leans in to Harry Potter and whispers: "It's you, and by *a lot*."

I love how they nailed the goblins without given them noses, since of coarse lego figures don’t have noses.

This is the best review I seen of this set! Glad you didn’t rag on the Gringot ts sign. Heard it too many times. However … I would love to see a tutorial fix for that obvious flaw. Maybe you could do a mini on how best to cut, space and apply those stickers. Or not. Perhaps they don’t bother you.

I’m very confused as to why the Gringotts sign, which should be prioritized as it’s literally the name of the building and set, uses two stickers which ruin the front of the set. Despite this, inside the bank there are printed pieces which Lego would normally just use stickers for. Very strange and honestly disappointing.

Comparing it to the Diagon Alley set, and it should probably be in the mid $300 range, but it's not super overpriced at $430.

First of all i really think the Set looks awesome. Second i have to say that i do not understand a 50+ Sticker sheet in a 430$ Set. The gap in the Gringotts Bank lettering freaks me out and i really think this could be solved in a better way. In my opinion Lego needs to print at least in the 200$+ Sets otherwise i think they do not appreciate their Fans enough.

I think those larger coins could be used in the “bank” function of the gift with purchase add on!

Rivendell for the price point is far superior! Would’ve gladly avoided the mines (or made them separate) just to buy the bank (which is a bit underwhelming on its own but probably good enough), which would’ve also made the set far more consumers friendly having to spend 200 less to complete diagon alley

The fact that there isnt an actual connection betwee the two section is the deal breaker about this gimmick to me. They are just sitting on top of each other yet disconnected.

I prefer the castle you can build by combining all of the Harry Potter play sets. For < $400 you get a minifig scale castle with a million minifigs.

If I had unlimited ressources, I believe I still wouldn't look at this as the top item for the UCS HP. I count 5 sets as being a part of the line so far, and here is my ranking - microscale Hogwarts - Edwig and other icons - the Hogwart's express - Gringotts - Diagon Alley The five of them are really decent, and the last on my personnal tierlist is still something I had at least considered buying once. The reason why I put the last two where they are is because they need each other to complete the look. I can see gringotts packing a lot more stuff than diagon alley on it's own, but if you purchase them together, you can't really do anything with the cave parts because you need the building to stand next to each other, so a good half of the set is hard to expose. The express is iconic, but a bit complicated to display, and the competition is stronger. Edwig is absolutely amazing, has a lot of presence and is cheap compared to the others The castle is the most recognizable feature of the eight movies, and the set packs a lot of references picked in the whole saga. It works on his own, and is also the only one at this particular scale. The build process is a bit tedious though, mostly because of the stickers. I don't have enough space and money to buy them all, so I'll gladly stay with the two I already own, being my top two on this list.

1:41 it isn’t a full interior though is it? Claiming to be a hardcore fan but doesn’t know where the dragon came from or the polyjuice Ron fig is where the spell wears off. He gets sent sets so he needs to drum up products and of course every set is worth the money.

I bought this set, just arrived... I have to say, I have 0 Lego Harry Potter sets... I have all the modular buildings since the first one Corner Cafe, have all the holiday sets, 90% of the Idea's set, some of the Star Wars, most of the Creator Expert sets (including before they called them Expert, just called them Creator). This set was so unique, I had to have it. Never have I seen any building techniques like this one, it looks like it is floating. I like the Harry Potter franchise, but none of the sets up until this one made me say, yes. The train came close, but the $500 price tag for what really seemed to be the Emerald Express now in red that sold for I think $180, that seemed like more inflation than I was willing to pay.

AWEsome, that would be great if they made it seperate pieces.. I rather have the Bank alone to add it with the alley. But what will i do with bottom set.. A tough question. Good Build...

I agree with you that there were less stickers but its nice the set is modular and that the base can be separated from the bank part on top. The rail car is super sweet. 15:01 let me stop you right there. LEGO did NOT “come up with this design”. There was a builder who posted on Reddit about two years ago by the name of stej123 who made his Gringotts build. If you’ve seen it, well let’s just say we now know where LEGO got their inspiration… I wish I could say I’m surprised LEGO didn’t come up with something more original.
