Ahh amazing, this is a damn fine video. To the ladies and gentlemen of solidworks, and all those students who have lost sleep over an SAE competition, thanks for spreading good tutorials.

to add thickness to a surface loft, go to Insert -> Boss/Base -> Thicken.

Creating a lofted surface which terminates at a point is a poor surfacing practice. Improperly using a loft in this way will result in a degenerate point and will cause severe tearing and rippling of the surface toward the tip of the cone. You can verify this using the Verify -> curvature and zebra stripe analysis tools. Further surfacing tools are required to model this type of geometry.

Why does the volume drop over the length of the video. That or the instructor moved away from the Mic without noticing. Or so it seems being I had to turn up my volume just to hear the guy near the videos end.

Once you've worked with Catia, it's annoying to have to downgrade to Solidworks.

you got a be kidding me :D you should add the thickness to show us is gonna work or not, cause this what you did is more like: lets just make one tutorial to keep our channel alive or model for rendering cause surface is equal to nothing when it comes to production. hope that student are using better technics than this one... :P
