I go solo boating to Weymouth from hamble in my Jeanneau Merry Fisher , 55 Nautical miles single handed, i pass yarmouth marina , the needles IOW , bournemouth , poole , studland and parts of the jurassic coast.
I spend the night in Weymouth Marina and have to go and buy all the essentials as forgot to pack anything of use.
STATS FROM THE TRIP
DISTANCE : 49.7 Nautical miles
TIME : 4Hr 6Mins
AVERAGE SPEED: 12.1Kts
FUEL COSUMPTION: 69 Litres DIESEL
FUEL COST: 69 litres used @ 1.69ltr = £116.61 (one way)

It would be interesting for us armchair admirals to be told details of your trip. Distance travelled, fuel used, time taken, average speed, all that sort of thing. I'm sure that this sort of trip many of us have done,( in our minds), but you have achieved the real thing. Well done! More please!

Just wanted to say loving the new channel. There aren’t many you tube channels that cater for those of us with small motor boats, it’s mainly sailing or super yachts, so nice to see a more realistic boating channel. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and share your experiences. I started a model railway channel a few months ago (that’s my winter hobby) so I know how much time and effort it takes to make the videos! All the best with the channel Mark

It's nice to have a proper boater instead of the boat reviews. Still out of my price range but great to watch. Me personally a trailer with a cubby cabin for sea fishing.

Special Forces background confirmed 🤣 Question: when you're crossing busy shipping channels in relatively poor visibility, do you depend on larger ships with radar spotting and contacting you if you get too close? I'm guessing visibility was better in person than the video!

Was going to buy a merry fisher 645 to use around west cost Scotland island hopping around Oban Mull area and others . Is the boat capable assuming the weather is reasonable you appear to be very comfortable with yours any advise be much appreciated before I commit to buying

Can you do a video on Savvy Navvy and how it compares with an onboard one or other apps? I have an old chartplotter on my 655 so I was thinking of an app-based one to support it.

Was thinking the same thing there are quite a few out there but I personally found savvy navvy the easiest as very similar to using Google maps

Yeah surprisingly comfortable , mooring single handed is easy as long as tide not rushing

I have same boat, 110bhp, I couldn’t get more than 14nts, any idea? The engine seems very healthy and revs really well

£1.69 a litre? Where are you filling up? My local marina is £1.83 for 60/40 which is about the same as the cost of road diesel.

The only thing I can think of is when I set up the savvy navvy software I inputted the fuel consumption figures from the owners manual and not actual figures ?
