I wasn't the first to do this and I sure as heck didn't execute it the best either but I got it done and cooked a chicken out in the bush all by my lonesome.
my thermometer said to cook the chicken to 185

Man it's satisfying to see the forces of nature work for you. GOOD call bringing a meat thermometer. PSA: Some said Xander didn't share his food last trip. He may be a gluttonous pig....but he's also very generous about sharing...not everything makes the video :)

Stand up move sharing that. Although it would be kind of funny to troll the KZfaq crowd with an inside joke that Xander doesn't share... lol

I watched the Lost Lakes version of the last vid and Xander definitely shares sausage with Jon. Jon also might not have wanted a lot of Xander's food because Jon eats a lot of healthy stuff and Xander eats like a zombie tyrannosaur.

Xander truly is an inspiration. When most people get bored, they usually look for a movie they haven't seen or think about heading into town for a night out. This guy just says "I bet I can MacGyver the fuck out of some sticks and bark so I can cook a rotisserie chicken on this random river bank."

Outstanding! I get a huge dose of satisfaction watching your videos. In my opinion, you and Jon (Lost Lakes) are about the two most genuine popular outdoor personalities on KZfaq, bar none. Honestly, no one holds a candle to you guys. Beyond cinematography and "bushcraft" skills, both of you possess good spirits and just the right amount of humbleness that makes you incredibly likeable and interesting. The testament to this is the speed in which your channel has grown in such short period of time - faster than anyone else. But you deserve it, Xander. Looking forward to your next instalment.

Awesome video! One thing I just wanted to say to keep people safe is that people shouldn’t use stones from a river when making a fire, as if the stones have cracks/holes and have water inside, the fire turns it to steam which can cause the rocks to explode and can be quite dangerous! Much love from the UK!

Dude as a 22 year old heroin addict you made me realize there are different ways of living that can still be fulfilling. I'm still an addict but living and experiencing nature as it was intended to be somehow seems more appealing than another shot of dope and I hardly ever feel that way about anything. One day I hope I can truly change and experience real life like you do in these videos. Its inspiring man for real just gotta somehow get through withdrawal the hardest thing I've ever tried to do. I'm thinking about going camping for a week and just toughing it out with nature but id probably give up after a few days knowing that sweet relief is just one shot of dope away :(
