The Apple you hat reminds me on the Brat Apfel we make in the winter in north east Germany. My mom always made them in the oven or when I was fishing with my Dad we did it over the fire. Great video, as always. The tea sounds really tasty. When watching you walk through the rock fields and over the stream...perhaps some trekking poles for piece of mind. Helps with the slippery rocks and doubles as a tarp pole. If you want to use less tech, make you own walking stick. Will help the knees too.

The hemlock tips are just starting to emerge around here. I nibbled on a few this morning on my before-breakfast walk. The flavor reminds me of oregano. In a few days (when they're a bit more substantial) I think I'll try making tea. Edit: sorry, "around here" means New England.
