Solo Camping in an Abandoned Castle is something I've always wanted to do. While in Romania, I found this magical fortress called Cetatea Colțești or Trascău Fortress in Transylvania. Built in 1296 and abandoned for 300 years, it was a fairy tale come to life.
Exploring places like this make me feel alive, and appreciate the history that has happened on this land. It was an incredible adventure camping experienves, and I didn't even get thrown off by the resident ghost. Great!

Wow!! Such a beautiful old castle. Stunningly gorgeous, even in ruin. I would imagine staying overnight in a place that gives you more of a connection to its past and its history. I love stuff like this. And even though the circumstances are awful, what with the pandemic and all, I'm glad you were able to have this adventure and share a bit of it with us. Oh, and I also would have yelled "Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope!" if I had come across that little alcove with the animal corpse in it. I definitely would have been creeped out. But I bet it was worth it to get that unbelievable timelapse and those gorgeous early morning drone shots! 🐉🐉🐉🐉🔥

But besides stories and legends, Colțești Fortress is definitely a spectacular ruin with panoramic landscapes. You should definitely conquer the peaks of the Trascău Mountains and immerse yourself into the deep wilderness and the rural landscape.

Loved the video!! So happy you visited that area! My grandma lives in one of the villages near there and I absolutely adore that area :) I miss it everyday. Haven't been able to go since last February because of Covid, so this video puts a smile on my face.

I’m glad you find Romania so beautifull and atractive. You finded there such a great place. I finded it also this summer, we camp at the base of the castle with a van. I hope you also saw the giant sleepy from the oposite part of the castle, you perfectly film it at 1’01”. It is a old story about this that he separte the two village of maghiar and romanian wich don't undertand one with another and he leed down there and he will wake up when the two will manage to understand one another. I am glad also that exist people like you, like Eva, like Charlie Ottley wich spoke so nice about Romania and show to the world the beautys of this country

Apai voi ăștia din București nu ați auzit numai de Brașov di Sibiu ,dar de Gradjna Zmeilor din Sălaj ati auzit?de Cheile Turzii,Turului,Runcului,Aiudului? Aici este la Cetatea Toroczko de după satul Rimetea jud Alba ,mai încolo sunt Cheile Valisoarei sau Aiudului ,e foarte faina zona ,Ardealul de munte și Apusenii sunt extraordinari, mai haidati și pe la noi nu numai pe la Brașov și Poiana,aici înainte se numea zona Scaunul Secuiesc al Ariesului

This video really showed to me the sadness within you without you saying it. Going from talking about a building becoming dirt much like the rest of us to then talking about feeling lonely without the experience including the locals. from people like you and me.... do you have a interesting place to visit locally? i live in a town that's 700 years old, and the namesake of a neighbourhood in New-York... Vlissingen (Flushing) yes Flushing in New-York is named after this little town with hardly 40.000 people ;) located in a province called Zeeland (its what makes New-Zealand New), we honour a Famous Priveteer (Pirate) Michiel De Ruiyter.... Also the Location of a IMORTANT forgotten battle of WW2, Battle of the Scheld. I love this town, is rich of history, most houses here are build before the mayflower ;) and STILL lived in to this day... This how he gets his information about cool places ;)

I recommend visiting "Hoia-Baciu" forrest near Cluj -Napoca Romania one of the most haunted places on earth . But don't go there just by yourself .

In Transylvania you can find those kind of ruins literally everywhere, you can camp cause they’re not protected.
