My son and I were out overnight last night. Too hot in the city so we got out for one night. We are hammock campers. I think what we like to do the most is just enjoy each other’s company. Catch up on news, have a beer, in front of the fire. It’s real nice!

Hey Kenny! As usual I enjoy most the fact that you're not afraid to say a prayer before your meals out loud where anyone watching your video can hear you! We need more people like you! That was a beautiful place you were at, wherever it was. I love listening to the water lapping on the shore, or over rocks, myself. I never could use a hammock. Actually I've only been camping twice. My husband and I once went with several of his army buddies and one couple with a couple preteen kids for a night to a big creek and had lots of fun! It was in early fall and it got kinda cold in the night, down to about the low 60's, but it was in the high 90's that day. The other time was just my husband and me. We spent a week by ourselves at the same camping area. It was just a small place and if you got there by yourself, or with your party, no one else was likely to stop there. You couldn't actually see the creek and camping area from the road, but the vehicles had to be parked on the side of the road and you walked down a fairly steep bank, not quite a cliff, but very steep just the same. It was in May and hot in the daytime but pretty cold at night still and very early morning. That creek water was super cold trying to wash in it of a morning and at night! Burrrrr! We slept on a thick air mattress with a couple pillows and sleeping bag and blankets. My husband did the cooking as I had never cooked on an open fire before. We had fun, but I admit I was glad to get back to civilization! My actual idea of camping out is having a trailer with a bed, a place to sit, and a bathroom in it!!! Husband says that's Not camping out! Anyway, both those times we were in our 30's. I didn't like camping out enough to want to do t again, plus we just got busy and never tried it again. And now we are in our late 60's. He could still camp out, but I can't. I really would have to have that travel trailer now. I'm handicapped now and can't bend my knees; so no squatting, no climbing, no kneeling. With the no climbing, we'd have to figure out a ramp or lift system to get me in and out of the trailer! But watching videos like yours, it makes me wish we could do something like camping! I enjoy watching these and similar videos. So Kenny, good video. Thank you for sharing. I've been camping with the same * guys for the last 14 years in the BWCAW. For me the fishing, fellowship sitting around the camp fire in the evening, watching stars,eat great food (no bag or box stuff). Eating fish,blueberry pancakes, french toast with bacon and home made syrup, hamburgers. Listening to the Loons and the quiet of silence in the wilderness. I'm seventy seven years old and still going strong. Keep on camping.

And fishing.catch clean and cooking it. And haveing you judge 1-10. When i started carveing i used irish spring bars of soap. It was swirl blue and white.diff colors very cool then when i got bettr went to hard clay and wood.

Perfect timing, after a day of errands, now we are relaxing to your vlog! Haha those darn fishies! You found such a fab spot for the night though - definitely makes up for no fish right! Wish we had free camps here in England like the ones you have, amazing! Fave thing about camping, there are so so many things to be honest, but one of the top ones definitely has to be sunsets and sunrises, and actually slowing down enough to enjoy them fully, embracing the end of a day and the start of a new one, and realizing just how precious and special being able to do that is!! Camped for over 60 years and really miss it so thank you for reminding me. I took my babies from infants and they love it as well. Hubby not so much, so I did it own my own including snow.

My fav part about camping is being in the open air all the time. Waking up early in the morning and the first thing you see out of the tent's window is the sun coming slowly out.

I really enjoy you videos, especially the camping videos like this one. As another PNW camper I would like to suggest you take a look at portable fire pits. The ability to place them exactly where you need them can really improve the camping experience greatly. If you could have placed one of these just outside the lip of your awning you could have had the protection of the awning AND the warmth of the fire. I picked this up from “Primal Outdoors” vids and have really enjoyed using these. The permanent fire pits in parks are great but not always in convenient positions. Just passing this along as it’s worked really well for me. Take care.

Another great video. Wow that water was very clear. Agreed, dehydrated breakfast meals never taste right. I just eat toasted English muffins with jam or oatmeal. I get more intrigued by hammock tents every time you show one. I've never used one before. Better fishing next time!

What I love about camping is the fact that i have a little tiny shelter no matter what it is from a tent to hammock to what ever else I decide to do...but my all time favorite is just sleeping under the stars right on mother earth with as little stuff as possible.. Fish or any other kind of meat cooked slow over the open fire is to die for...and before I go I always make some homemade jerky to bring along as a snack.. just a few things I do...

Made my night seeing this notification pop up , I love omeals because some of the add your own water ones if you get it wrong they are just soup. That chicken one is yummy in a couple of tortillas to bulk it out. And like they say any water " I use sea. Water normaly as that's where I'm camping

I really enjoy watching all of your videos , I don't do much of water camping things anymore , I didn't do a whole lot when I was younger bc I was like I preferred the cabins with beds without mosquitoes . But I look forward to seeing you and your videos each day . My favorite part of camping is the relaxing and not having to answer the phone . Back in the early 80's and 90's there were no cell phones and to get out with my ex and daughter thrilled us all . God bless you and your family .

Peanut butter and jelly , umm umm , I love to have a fire ,and grill one side of bread very lightly , then take it off but peanut butter on it ,( I do this to both slices ) then but it back on the grill ( peanut butter side up , obviously ) toast it a little longer , then remove and add the jelly . It's delicious ! The peanut butter melts , and if you have cold jelly ( witch is hard to do ) it's just an amazing treat . And that cone thing you did I will try ( for my grandchildren / even though I don't like marshmallows , too much sugar ) my favorite part of camping has always been , fire , good eats , sleep , but. Most of all being in nature , I'm especially happy when I can do it with loved ones .

As a more "mature" couple whose tent camping days are behind us, we have such fun watching your channel. We love that joy not perfection seems to be your goal. As we are from the midwest, we always wonder where you are camping especially viewing this one. This place was beautiful. We hope that big fish is out there ready for you and that your trail cam will capture lions, tigers or bears.

As always great video! My older brother lives in Northern Idaho and he uses a watermelon green 6 inch slider worm and catches lots of small mouth bass. Maybe try that and see if it gets you more bass...lol. I also was wondering what ace are you using? I just purchased a council tool craft axe and loving it. My favorite part about camping is definitely the campfire, from cooking over it to just enjoying a good conversation. I recent got into more of a rustic type camping (just a hammock and the essentials) it’s a complete departure from what I ever thought I would enjoy, and I love it!

Hey Kenny, you always have to plan for rain up there, all summer long. The islands are nice because there are no bears, but I love the north end & beyond I don't fish much either, but always see folks using large flashers to get them big trout. A stop for a huckleberry cone on your way out is a must :) Thanks for the vid & happy trails!

My wife and I enjoy your videos! As an avid fisherman I'd like to offer up a few tips. When trolling I would use a floating Rapala in black and gold when near the shoreline and when out a little further go with a CD5 Rapala. When fishing from shore and if going for trout try a Kastmaster in a 1/4 ounce. These will cast a good distance and are very productive. Make sure you tie on a good ball bearing swivel first to help prevent line twist. Good luck in the future! We missed the steaks and mashed taters on this one and sounds like you did too! lol

Love the camping trips, quiet and beautiful. Try live bait (worms etc or even power bait). Trout are very skidish to any noise, bass eat anything that moves, prayer for fish is always the way to start. Remember the disciples were fishermen, so if your not catching anything try the other side of the boat. God bless

Another great video. What is my favorite thing to do when camping you ask? Sitting around camp or walking in the woods in the winter time. Listening to just how quiet the world gets and the crunch of snow under my boots. In the summer just paddling along the shore looking at life under the water or along the shoreline. Love going solo but even better when I can share it with my grandkids. God Bless
