I went camping alone in the woods with some pretty worrying noises going on from wild animals in the area. This winter solo camp was spent with a lot of rain but I managed to get a fire going all the same. I cooked up bangers and mash and tried out my new tent - Vaude Terra Hogan 2p.

Good afternoon Adam, we think dog is thinking "please don't get us washed away" lol absolutely loving the looks of this tent, not one we are familiar with! ⛺ ❤ 😍 Shame they don't include guy pegs, like you said maybe an exercise in weight reduction with so many people heavily focused in weight 🤔 proper little beast! Defo with you on the warmth and comfort 👍 Get well soon Druffus 😊 Love the line "not a normal noise" Kat says that about my belly before food! 🤭 Not to sure about the tinned breakfast, pass on that thanks Adam! 👍 Cracking video as always, catch you soon, Ceri and Kat ☕ ❤ 🗺 🎄 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Not surprised at all that the Vaude tent is quality. I have their 0 degree synthetic sleeping bag and while it's a big pack size, quality wise Id say its the best sleeping bag i own. But yes, the 6 pegs is stupid, same happened with my sierra design. as you say, so it's they can claim it's a lighter weight. But looks a brilliant tent with enough room between the outer and inner, which is one thing that peeves me. I have a Vaude winter hardshell I bought in Germany, when I moved over there for 2 years and forgot my winter 2-piece North Face jobber. It was amazing - warm as owt, never wet out. The zip failed on it after daily (winter) use for 5 or 6 years and they were fully waterproofed, so impossible to repair round here. Vaude said they'd replace for cost though I think. Just never got around to it. Expensive tackle though.

@@MrWildWales yeah, the German's we were mates with treated the brand as purveyors of upmarket technical stuff. Lots of mountaineering gear in their shops. I actually had a look at 3p of this tent a couple of years back for me and the missus, but as she only comes out with me from mid/late spring to mid/late autumn it seemed massive overkill. I'm torn between this and the TerraQuattro, Quattro is so much bigger but if I go out with my son that may help. It's half the weight of my old Vango Force10. Yet this could do me for my ML or Scouting Terrain 2 if/when I take them, and may offer more protection than the MLD Trailstar.

Oh, how much I love to do such camping..but... but my phobia of darkness in lonely places and eerie supernatural things...it acts as a tremendous mental block to enjoy nature from close. Any suggestions and experiences to get rid of such phobia will be appreciated. Animals and their sounds can be explained, but invisible beings... Of course they are the product of our imagination, but the nature of the phobia is such that it doesn't want to believe in logic.

Why would you be a wee bit worried about any wild critters in England? You don't have anything dangerous like we do here bears, wolves, mountain lions, little things like that. @@MrWildWales I grew up in the 1940's and 50's, Wales was still a part of the Island back then, tic. I have black bears, Cougars, Coyotes, but the conservation department swear there are no Wolves. They said the same thing about the Bears and Cougars till people started getting those pics on house security cameras. They are mostly not a problem if you take precautions and carry Bear Spray. Scary but the spray usually takes care of them, if it doesn't then no more worry's. Ever. That has happened to some.
