Amazing adventure....

I like those little dam areas they are neat . We don’t have anything quite like that here in Ontario. That’s a lot of cement poured into one of those babies.

Thanks for the trip, I did a section of this river years ago. Churchill's hole to Lake John.

Beautiful footage... Most likely not heavily travelled, East of Tobeatic? Thanks so much...... I think the Devil's Stillwater, immediately following the Run, are ideal Trout Conditions?
@Stretch691 Жыл бұрын
The Jordan River watershed lies to the south of lake Rossignol and is in the southeastern corner of the Tobeatic (also extends past the Tobeatic border). As far as I can tell it is not traveled very often anymore. When I went through during the making of this video it seemed like it had been quite some time since anybody had been through there.

Without meaning to pester you, could you offer advice in case I encounter Black Bears?

Very nice. The video portion is excellent. I suppose you're sure that the audio needs a little tweaking, but like I say; the video is excellent which really does a superb job of capturing that unique essence of Nova Scotia wilderness. Thanks man!!

I’m glad you liked it. The audio I know is less than ideal. I do all my filming only with my GoPro 7 black which takes great video but not so great audio. Hope it didn’t detract from your enjoyment. My goal really is to show places that other people haven’t filmed (except for keji) I got a big week long trip coming up next month I hope people enjoy

@@Stretch691 Yes my brother.The video was so superb and spoke of everything quintessential in your epic voyage. You caught Nova Scotia hinterland as it should be captured. The audio is only of small significance, important...but small. I really look forward to your next vid and thank you so much for your hard work and great effort. I truly believe that your content will build a great audience. I am with you 100%.

Nice trip. Did you edit out all the best parts?

All that and not one cast??

Great video! Heading in with a small group at the end of April. Wondering what you use for footwear, from what I can tell you have a dry pant or wader with stocking foot and then some sort of boot? Is it just a wading boot or something specific? Planning to wear waders with a stocking foot and some sort of hiker - want to keep my feet warm!
@Stretch6912 жыл бұрын
These are the shoes I'm currently using www.mec.ca/en/product/5003-150/Newport-H2-Sandals?colour=RVE08. But there are other similar options. And yes, my pants are a dry pant with built in socks that keep my feet and legs dry while I wade. Might be a good idea to have something similar as that trip requires a fair amount of wading in a number of places.

@@Stretch691 Thanks for the quick reply! I had been considering using waders with a neoprene stocking foot, I am thinking perhaps your pants have a full dry sock and not neoprene? May be time to purchase the proper pants for this trip.

Thanks for the video Mark, great trip. You had great weather and water levels! What month were you in there? is there any trout left in the river system?
@Stretch6912 жыл бұрын
That trip was in late April. I was hoping to find trout in there, and maybe there is, but the first cast I threw in I caught a chain pickerel so just gave up on fishing the rest of the trip.
@saltedbiscuit2 жыл бұрын
@@Stretch691 ahhh, the nasty pickerel. After seeing your video I did check with an old school fishing guy from Shelburne way and he doesn’t think that there is any trout left in the Jordan system… so your call on not chasing them was probably a wise one. How did you fare for ticks?
@Stretch6912 жыл бұрын
@@saltedbiscuit Ticks were not an issue at all on that trip but that was also still quite early in the spring. Went below freezing every night. They do get pretty hot back in there at times though.

Were the portages between lakes bad? Well marked?
@Stretch6913 жыл бұрын
I only did a couple portages. A few short ones around some snags and obstructions, all unmarked, from the driving canal into Jordan lake (un-marked but open and easy) and then around the worst part of big falls. The portage around big falls is clearly marked at the beginning and starts off well defined and easy to follow though eventually deteriorates and vanishes a couple hundred Meters in. Still not very difficult

@@Stretch691 i would love to try that route. Trying to find good routes around HRM
@Stretch6913 жыл бұрын
@@mattparker9986 It's a great trip. I'd definitely do it again. Not sure your skill level as a canoeist or a backwoodsman. I'd say it's an intermediate+ level trip as far as backwoods canoe trips go. Depending on weather it could be a 4-6 day trip and below lake John there's a lot of class II rapids, which if your comfortable with is fine but you just need to know they're there and there's a lot of them. Also expect to drag and carry around multiple sections where the river is completely snagged and blocked with downed trees and downfall. Hope you get out there.
