Every year I float out to an undisclosed location on Alaska’s Susitna River in search of Moose. There’s usually several animals to be cautious of while doing these types of trips, mostly bears and moose. And there’s always bears and moose. The river was really high this year and it made for some interesting travel. I paddled many places that I would normally hike. This allowed me to bring a lot of extra gear since I wasn’t actually carrying the items, rather they were just riding in the canoe. The bull that I called in in this video was passed on, I wasn’t completely sure he was legal so I let him walk. That’s not easy to do, but it’s not worth getting it wrong. Disclaimer: the drone footage was obtained the day after moose season closed as I was tearing down camp. I waited til season was closed so as to not break any rules regarding devices and hunting.
