Looks like January was a great gaming month for you, Rhiannon. You have tackled a couple of big games solo that I have not played even multiplayer. Thank you for all of your thoughts on Bitoku and Trismegistus, both of which I own. I hope February has gotten off to a great start for you too!

I hope you get chance to give them a go soon! They're certainly daunting but so satisfying to play when you get through the initial learning part 😊 some of my favourites! February has been slow so far for me but hoping it picks up! I hope your gaming is faring better than mine! 😁

Nice reviews, as always. And I really appreciate the time stamps for the games. I had never heard of Solar Storm, so I looked it up. It has a weight (complexity) rating of 2.06 on Board Game Geek, which is ideal for me, as I like lighter games. It will be going into my collection soon!

Nice summary of the month. I’ve had to knock most of the game channels I was watching regularly on the head, as I was spending more time watching people talk games than play myself, but I’ll be sticking with yours and a couple of others. Your comments are always interesting to hear - cheers!

that's awesome that publishers are reaching out to you. congrats. the channel is really coming along and you deserve it. i reached out to Co-op Guild here on you tube about your channel and said it would be nice to get you on his show/pod cast. continued success to you! great video. that is a nice collection of games behind you!

Thanks for your toughts on the solomodes. According to BGG the solo mode for Bitoku doesn't score very high. May be because of the upkeep (like you mentioned). Never heard of Trismegistus, but it look my cup of tea :-), with a solo mode from David Turczi.

Yes I think so, it really is a big hefty solo and can imagine it's a chore for many. In terms of feeling like playing against an opponent it's amongst the best solo I've ever played. I love it 🥰 Trismegistus is a brilliant game! I do believe it's not going to be reprinted so it could become a bit difficult to find at some point but it's not universally loved so I've still seen stock around in the UK at the moment at least. Seems like a hidden gem really, such a shame. The solo definitely isn't the greatest but if you don't mind a beat your own score feel or doing a little digging on the fan made solo versions it's definitely worth it!

I was having trouble with number 10 but managed to do it a couple of nights ago! I'm so glad they ramped up after the first couple as I was a little underwhelmed at first. Hope you get a successful play soon!! 😊

@@bluedogboardgames Wow you are good! For mission 4 I would like to know if I am playing correctly, you should not have a wild card at the end of the game. So I pay to take the imposed cards and put them on the wild cards to remove them. But I was wondering the question Could I take a map of the river and place it on a wild card? I do not think so . I find it very difficult :)

@@bluedogboardgames In mission 4, can we move 1 starting card (the one with the purple token on it at the start of the game) by paying $5 even if it has already been moved before to remove a wild card?

Thanks for another great month of shows! I found Solar Storm is available to purchase on Dranda's website. Unfortunately the BGA implementation doesn't include a solo mode, so I have to decide if I want to play a co-op game with somebody else on there, ha. I've been playing a lot of Mythwind the past couple of weeks since it delivered. Luke Hector destroyed it in his review yesterday, but I love it. It's easy to play after work, although the number of rules questions seems to be escalating on BGG. Anyway, to each their own. Do you think you'll do a playthrough of Trismegistus?

Oh that's a shame! Are you able to play two handed on BGA? You can tell I'm obviously not a BGA veteran as that's probably a silly question! Oh I'm so jealous of Mythwind! I've been watching a lot of people play and it looks right up my street. So glad you're enjoying it!! Definitely on my radar for the future, such an interesting and innovative game from the looks of it. Yes hopefully I will do a playthrough of Trismegistus at some point! A little spoiled for choice of which solo mode to choose... Thank you for the watch 🥰

@@bluedogboardgames I don't think you can two-hand on BGA, unless you login to two accounts (hmmmm...). They're about to do a reprint Kickstarter of Mythwind as well, I think in March, just FYI.

You can play two handed by using the hot seat option which is what I've done to learn. It might be only available to premium subscription which I have though 🤔

Had you considered games like Pax Pamir? Or behemoths from, say, Vital’s games like Lisboa or On Mars? Or the solo of Trickerion,,, which I noted on your shelf in the back?

Playing or filming playthroughs? I own Kanban EV and as you say, Trickerion. They're a bit too big to do playthroughs of for what I am doing at the moment (I don't often have the time to film that long and I'd have to cut a bit of the boards out the shot). However I love love love Trickerion so much. Kanban is very good but theme wise I think I may have been better with Vinhos perhaps. I have also considered Pax Pamir before but between the higher price and theme decided it's probably not for me as a purchase but I'd love to try it one day. So many good games!!

@@bluedogboardgames I found out just today that Pax Pamir is on BGA as well, and supports solo. Go over to the dark side!

@@bluedogboardgamesI'd anticipated playthrough. EV is known as a great game but I am a bit anti cars due to the whole environmental thing--carbon, climate change, its my pet p. I recon if you can handle the solo of Bitoku,,, a Vital, or Mindclash, will be a snap. I mean you even have Mage Knight which is a real challenge for a heavy solo game. Brill game and the designer is a genius.
