I’ve never played the Stardew Valley video game, but the board game is in my top 10! I can see and respect the flaws others see in the game, but it’s just so charming

games like lobotomy is kind of my games :),, stardew valley got really popular from an indie game to a well known and beloved Title! to board games and theres also a Car Brand that has Stardew Valley installed into it

for Sentinels start with Legacy, Ra, Tempest, in that order on the board. Legacy will buff all heroes, Ra will do the damage, and Tempest can heal, damage, and remove bad cards.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll give that combo a go next time! In fact I think my first game had Tempest and Ra and Tempest ended up dying really soon and so I didn't get anything running for him. I've quite liked Legacy's abilities so far and Ra is pretty much my go to as I at least feel like I'm doing something with him. I think I just need a lot more time with this game but unfortunately I'm not sure if I want to invest it...

If you're not having fun then I'd say move on. You will get it if you are having fun though. It's less of a lifestyle game than it may appear. Thanks for the videos.

I have had a similar experience with Sentinels every time I've played, it's a fun system with cool combo potentials and synergies between heroes, but I found it really punishing and mentally taxing solo. My friends who adore it have gone all in on the lore and world, which doesn't do much for me unfortunately, and I think that helps them come back even after a run of punishing losses. I was wondering if you were going to try the Stardew board game and what'd you think given what you've said about loving the video game, glad you got to try it and seemed to enjoy it! Congrats on making it through 11 of the 12 months of the game a day challenge, I'm happy to get a single game in most weeks, very impressive.

Yes absolutely, I think I would be more inclined to dive deeper into it and learn it more thoroughly if the theme appealed more (for Sentinels). Alas every game can't be for everyone, I still appreciate it for what it does. I actually filmed a playthrough of Stardew today so that will hopefully be out soon! I'm really enjoying it, again I don't think everyone would love it but I certainly do 🤩🥰 Thank you! Definitely been a fun experience so far!!

Those earrings are fantastic! Marvel Champions is a much better version of Sentinels of the Multiverse, it's taken the good bits and ditched the bad and the excessive admin, it's also fun to play true solo (just one hero).

Thanks!! Ahh that's good to know, I've heard a lot about Marvel Champions and how it's good solo, I'd like to give it a go, I do wish it would be rethemed though I must admit!! Thank you for the suggestion 😊

Of course, there are also the Arkham Horror and LOTR LCGs out there, if you don’t like the Marvel theme. I agree that SOTM is too difficult solo. We even tried two-player/two-handed and it was too much to keep track off (that was the older version though).

i disagree completely. MC takes more understanding of the cards as it requires deck construction. even net decking requires understanding of using the cards. and you have to do it every time you play with a different hero/villain. MC takes more to get up and running. both are fine games, neither are without its drawbacks

I love the Arkham Horror card game!! I've only got the base however and it starts to get a little old after a while, but haven't bit the bullet to get more. I want to try Sentinels double handed with my husband but like you say I think it still may just be a bit much... we'll see!

I’ve been trying to solo some of the T games this month: Tekhenu, Teotihuacan, Tawantinsuyu. Tiletum (I can’t remember if that’s a T game or not). It’s pretty tough mentally after work with dinner and the kids and everything, ha. I think sometimes that’s the toughest part of solo gaming, not being able to discuss the rules with somebody else at the table, especially for these more complex games.

Yes I can agree with that definitely. I've only played Tekhenu from that list and it doesn't often come out for that reason, there's a lot of legwork and brainwork that I don't always have spare on an evening! Which is your favourite from the T's? I've wanted to try more but wasn't sure which direction to go.

@@bluedogboardgames From the ones I've played, I'd probably say Tekhenu on theme alone (I'm a sucker for the Egyptian theme; The Mummy is the greatest movie ever made, nobody can tell me otherwise!). On gameplay for solo, probably Teotihuacan. The Tiletum solo bot is....complex...a separate 15-odd page book of rules to run it.

Oh wow that sounds like a lot but interesting! Teotihuacan I must admit has caught my eye the most. Thank you! They always seem to be quite reasonably priced too!

How does Stardew Valley compare to Pauper's Ladder?

Sorry I haven't played Pauper's Ladder so I'm afraid I can't compare them! I've got a playthrough of Stardew coming out soon though so you can see how it plays then :)
