In July I spent 4 days solo trip hiking and backpacking in the North Cascades National Park in Washington. From an overnight on Sahale Glacier filled with mountain goats to numerous dips in the glacier fed lakes, this is a video full of stunning scenery and hard hikes.
***Park Update on Fires- as of August 12,2023 Sourdough Mountain is on fire and some of the park near Ross Lake and Sourdough are closed. Check the park website for updates.

Wow, these must be challenging trails to ascend! But sometimes steep hikes are uniquely enjoyable because they really work all the muscles including the core muscles. I used to dance best (when I was a few decades younger l) after a summer of climbing steep peaks and getting a more thorough workout head to toe. I’m thankful for all the blissful moments you filmed 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I am a native of the North Cascades. I've spent that last 50+ years hiking and backpacking the North Cascades National Park and surrounding wilderness areas. There really are no easy hikes here but they are all worth the effort. Very good video. You really captured the essence of the North Cross corridor hikes. If you are ever in this area again I would recommend the Mt Baker Wilderness. A myriad of hikes centered around the majestic Mt Baker. Again, wonderful video. Thanks so much.

This is a great video Alice. I understand the effort and time it takes to edit footage, which in return makes it impossible for us viewers to critic your work... 😂 The views are stunning. I have been backpacking nearby many times, on the Canadian 🇨🇦 side, in Manning Provincial Park where exists an extensive network of trails that leads south of the border, including the PCT. I should make good use of my passport and head south. North Cascades would be ideal actually, simply for the lack of people visiting. Thanks for sharing 🥾😎🏔☯️🇨🇦🇺🇸🍔🍺🌻

This is all in my backyard. Totally blessed to have it so close and live here. Sadly we do have a lot of trail head break ins. If you ever get a change to hike the Enchantment Lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness you need to jump on it. It is , by far, the most beautiful area in Washington. Permits are hard to get, especially for the Core zone, less than 1 chance to win one in the lottery. But, it's a must do. Love your videos!

I enjoy your hiking videos. 9 years ago my wife and I hiked a section of the PCT from Big Bear to Lake Arrowhead. We are living in Ecuador now and we love it hear. I noticed when you add your narration to your videos it has a bit of an echo sound. I figured out an easy way of getting rid of the echo. I put a blanket over my head and that gets rid of all the echo. The blanket creates a cheep DIY recording studio.

Nice survey of a region I hiked for over 40 years. Trails can be steep in these extremely rugged and precipitous mountains. The ones you hiked are well traveled highways compared to those in more remote, less visited areas. Glad you had good weather, which can be chancy. Also, I advise keeping your distance from Mountain Goats. They are very unpredictable. Hikers in Washington have been seriously injured, even killed by them.
@AliceFordAdventures
@AliceFordAdventures 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice, I did not approach any of the mountain goats they came to my camp site as they like salt and so many people have peed up there that it’s a spot they love.

@@AliceFordAdventures Pee around campsites does attract them. Over the years I've seen many hikers try to coax them closer for photos, kind of like the tourists with the Bison in Yellowstone. Definitely not a good idea. You shoot good video. Safe travels to you.
