In this short overnight solo hiking & camping trip I hike Mount Toolbrunup & Mount Trio, both of which are in the Stirling Ranges, Western Australia. After getting back my camera from warranty repair sooner than I thought, I quickly organised an overnight trip along the coast of WA. Things didn't go quite to plan though and I was forced to make some spur of the moment decisions.
See the exact trails I took;

Great vid Josh. I do the Stirling's twice each year, and no two days are the same. Have camped at that same bush camp. Good way to support the local community. Cheers for sharing. Keep em coming 🤙

It was really interesting to hear that the hike was not well planned etc because the video you posted with the shots and the music was without doubt one of the best individual videos I’ve ever seen on here. Nice one.

Cheers Wayne, appreciate the kind words. Sometimes the unplanned adventures turn out to be better ones, and I guess the same might be said for the videos?

Everywhere you can go hiking in Australia seems to have been burned in the last couple of years... devastating. Great video though Josh.

Good stuff, Thanks for adding the summary at the end really like this format. I want to check out that campsite looks good. What is the red thing hanging from your pack is that a GPS or something. I'm interested in getting a GPS emergency tracker type device, would be interested in which one you chose if that is what it is. Maybe you could do a video on your gear if you haven't already. Thanks

Cheers Dan, hopefully planning to put one of those out in the next month or two but will see how we go. It’s called a Garmin Inreach Mini which is personal locator beacon. I figured going on solo trips it’d be pretty handy. Comes with a pretty hefty price tag of ~$500 but can’t a price on safety

Stark scenery this time! Fires were ruthless hey? I’ve used the Indian curries you get in pouches on trips before (usually only a few bucks from Indian supermarket), but agreed you need some carbs with them, or have 2...Thanks for the video.

Definitely a change from usual greenery that I hike through, will take years for the area to recover. I bumped into someone on the trail that had those Indian pounches as well, I’ll have to give those a try!

Josh Carr I was considering doing the Stirling Range Ridge Walk in a few weeks. Not so sure now after seeing how badly it’s all been burnt.

Garmin is not a PLB Josh, its a satellite communicater with an SOS function. A true PLB is a government registered rescue beacon 406MHz, just an FYI to be accurate and safer.

As soon as it rains they close the gravel tracks to stop the spread of dieback. Such a beautiful and diverse park that it's worth going a little extreme to protect.
