I genuinely appreciate that mindset of "your baby is not gonna remember the mess" that you mentioned with the laundry, my mom is a single mom and she found that mindset herself as well. and NO!! it does not mean that you are a horrible mother or person or ANYTHING that laundry piled up over the course of travel, its normal and totally ok and it is so much more important that you are present with your child and I can so clearly see that you are so there for him and that he gets so much love from you. You are doing great Julie!!

Living in America it just blows my mind at the baby staying outside. I think it's amazing that you live in such a safe area that this can be done. I love that so much for all of you living in Norway. I wish it was like that everywhere in the world. 😊
@horse_addictforlife_ECuestrian3 ай бұрын
Exactly. I was completely shocked and the first thing that came to mind was: won't the baby be kidnapped? Even in Australia we would never dare to do that.
@NocasCC183 ай бұрын
most of western/northern europe is safe like that. kids also play outside alone when older and its no problem. kids walk home from school from age 5 and its perfectly safe
@horse_addictforlife_ECuestrian3 ай бұрын
Bro if kids walk home in Australia they can literally be kidnapped. And the crime rate recently has also been increasing. The law is failing us all. Just the other day they allowed a guy on meth who ran over 4 police officers, to go off without any jail time, and only have to do like 100 hours of community service or something. Ridiculous.@@NocasCC18

@@mysterygirl-xt4ic You could add subtitles on most videos, but when I’ve used them I’ve seen that they’re very often incorrect which would confuse anybody with hearing loss. I understand that this person would appreciate her taking the time to add bigger and correct subtitles :)

I’ve been married forever it feels like it anyway, and I’ve had a partner for all of my children, I’m a grandma now and I want to tell you that I know you have the hardest job there is… I honestly don’t think I could have made it alone so the fact that not only are you doing but your still doing it, and I know I don’t know you but I bet you are an amazing parent.. just know that there’s an old grandma out here in this messy world who’s thinking about you and sending you all the mental support the internet will let me.. you’ve got this… I just felt like I needed to tell you that your jobs hard on any day but alone it’s a mountain.. it doesn’t go in noticed I’m sure by more than just me.. I just needed to tell you from one mom to another heck from one human to another you and other single parents will always be looked up to by me.. your child will know so much strength simply by just having you as a parent.. ok ok hopefully I didn’t step over any boundaries just felt like I needed to let you know I was sending good vibes your way.. ❤

I could not agree more with the "kids should get to dress like kids" mindset!! Wear anything and everything, all at once, have fun, be loud!! When I was little my favourite thing to wear was a dress my grandma made me, with buttons in the shapes of strawberries, and shorts sewn on the inside so I could still move and run and play and climb!

A new mum is expected to be exhausted, have a ton of laundry, and a messy house. Thank you for sharing the real-life situation. You are both doing amazing parenting. Give yourself some grace. You may have some baby blues (post partum depression). It's quite common and makes you feel like you've lost your identity. You feel like a milk machine and so lonely. I had it with all three of my babies. You are doing great. I always had a good cry in the shower several times a week. It was a release to allow myself to feel those emotions and then get on with the day. Much love, it will pass. ❤

I must admit i do not miss the times when i had to buy clothes every month cause he was growing so fast out of them. Parenting by yourself is hard, even just temporarily it is isolating and the easiest way to self doubt yourself. You are doing fan-freaking-tastic and your love for Sunny just pours out of you❤ BTW- like you told yourself that Sunny won’t remember the mess, just do a couple of loads a day and take the time for yourself to relax and try to take care of YOU because there are ALWAYS going to be messes that need to be cleaned laundry to be done and dishes to be washed. Don’t look at it as treating yourself to a night of no cleaning because it shouldn’t be a treat but a way of self care .You both are wonderful and I wish nothing but the best for the three of you!

my super random tip/idea for the hair-grabbing: in many hospitals the preemies get these little crochet-octopus plushies, the tentacles are something for them to hold onto, so it calms them. in hospitals it prevents them from pulling at their IVs or NG-tubes, but ig it could work in preventing or reducing hair pulling….. (and they are pretty easy to crochet with some official templates online, just use 100% cotton (eg Schachenmayr Catania) and normal „plushie stuffing“ put into a nylon stocking. you can wash it and give it to him)

You are doing great and lots and lots of us moms have been in your shoes. Every mom in their own situation has things that are harder for them, but in my experience the drain from breastfeeding is real. It honestly is one of the things in my life, looking back, that I am so glad I did, and as a whole, really enjoyed. But that doesn’t change that it is a physical and also mental drain sometimes. Its one of those phases that can have lots of hard moments, but you can really miss when it’s over. Also, no judgement on the laundry/xmas decorations! I have had to really work hard to let go of my house being perfect since I had kids. The kids grow up but there will always be laundry. Do your best, and that is enough! Spending time on your family is so important too!
