The sound of the sax is just so fantastic I wonder how it was when it was invented, how somebody could take a noise and turn it into beautiful art, I mean the sound of the sax sounds a little rough but at the same time it got these colours, that relax your ear and made you think about the late 80s and early 90's. this is why i love church music, live bands, and jazz. they dont have sheet music yet still sound so awesome. there's so many random variables, and especially when a guest musician joins the house musician and starts singing a song and the house musicians gotta just jump in and hold on. its one thing when its a common baptist song like Amazing Grace but when its a modern gospel song and the church muscians didnt get around to practicing that new release song yet. yall may not be church going folks but live music is similar at jazz/blues bars or street performers. 3 to 5 songs are prepared and then the audience has a request or other filler songs gotta get played. Man i Love live musicians! -im somewhat of a musician myself. i play a mean Twinkle Twinkle Little Star-

Exactly! Sort of personally a bit different for me, as a classical violinist apart of a praise band performing church music since a young age(hymns to contemporary worship church music sub-genres), due to needing the orchestration part(or at least the lead sheet/piano part to improvise a bit for the harmony & melody together)!

Bro from a musician. Keep these videos coming. Learning so much from your sets and breakdowns. Artists need to watch the game film too. :) love hearing your mind set in the moment and seeing your brain work. I started doing stand up before i got into music bc i was terrified of performing. My proudest moment of that career i did a 5minute recorded set on my phone. the light never came on to get off stage and i had my set perfectly timed and laid out for 5mins. Ended up doing a 10 minute set and you couldnt tell on video that i ran out of my set. I could tell listening back to it. That split second thinking about being out of my set before i instinctually went into other jokes and idk how i did it but the jokes flowin fit my theme of the set and everything it was just perfect freestyling. And thats the vibes i get watching all your videos. Ik thats the art of jazz. But to see it. While getting to hear your processes too. Surreal :)

One thing I've learnt recently in my music journey is that accompaniment isn't about playing an exact sequence of notes. Follow the feel of the tune and key signature and just then just have fun. I love these videos, I love trying to play stuff by ear but it's difficult! As a fellow sax player my ear isn't developed enough to hear your mistakes so I think it's good for us normies 😅

Unfortunately I wasn’t born knowing every song on the planet. The way I learn them is by being exposed to them like this. I know it now:)

I’m not a professional saxophonist but back when I was in high school we had a jazz ensemble and I was the one and only Tenor Saxophonist in the group. And I when it came to improvising.. my solos were just me playing by ear over the chord progression.

I guess that the fact that I was more offended at you calling a sax a "horn" instead of a "reed" makes me a certified trumpeter 🤣 Great tone and technique, by the way; keep it up!
