Thanks for the thoughtful notes. I'll take each in turn: 1. That makes sense both thematically and mechanically, and will definitely make this scenario easier. 2. For sure. 3. Yeah - I try to put the tiles on the invention cards accordingly but I usually mentally recheck to make sure I still have access to the necessary terrain type when I go to build an item. Still, let me know if this affected gameplay. 4. I never understood the point of shuffling the hunting deck when all the cards are unknown and random. But yes. :) 5. Solo Playthroughs : For #4: It doesn’t matter much if you aren’t playing with Soldier. The soldier’s ability tracks a beast and places it on the top. So when you explore a tile with a beast symbol, this shuffle matters as the soldier’s preferred beast gets shuffled. Secondly, for any other roles: there is an item (I forget if it’s a treasure or adventure card), which makes you take 3 beasts from the beast deck and place the top most level beast in the hunting deck. Even then, this shuffle mattters - because you now have a chance that this high level beast is shuffled into the deck. Of course this is still chance and probability and you might have a couple of high level beasts already in your hunt deck - so you might still get a high level beast when you hunt - that is the game’s way of trolling you. Like I said, this didn’t matter in your play-through as you never hunted (?). You’re welcome. I have been playing RC extensively since it was somewhat thematic to the current world quarantine situation and because I didn’t want to play (& lose) Pandemic. 😷 I’ve tried playing solo due to the lack of our usual gaming group and made sure I got all the rules properly. I stumbled upon your video as I wanted to try the 2nd scenario solo. Your play-through made me plan mine and made sure that I don’t make the same mistakes. Spoiler alert: I won. This game has complex rule sets and the rulebook doesn’t help much. Yet, I love this game so much. Happy gaming & stay safe!

WOW! All the times I played this, I'm not sure I ever knew this rule for the solo game and it's such a gamechanger. That one thing definitely goes a long way to address my balance concerns, as I often found myself getting crushed by unfulfilled demand for determination tokens in the morale phase, not to mention I was wasting actions in organizing camp early to try to give myself a buffer. You seriously might have saved this game for me!

Nice! I'll look into it - thanks for the info. I'm still working my way through all of the RC scenarios, so TWOM is taking a backseat for a moment. I like RC a TON more now after I learned I was messing up the morale phase!! :)

Those two games are also at the top of my list. TWOM is is higher on my playlist.

@@j.b.25 I should have a TWOM video published in the middle of next month. I had one that I was halfway through editing but decided to scrap it after upgrading my lighting because I thought the glare on those dark TWOM cards was especially distracting. It was your standard "you recover from rats eating all your food only to have everything go to crap with an unfortunate encounter after you rolled a 1" kind of game... It was actually really nice to have extra incentive to get TWOM back to the table!

@@j.b.25 I'll definitely be getting the last three Crusoes on the channel in the upcoming months, and then I want to break into First Martians. (I know First Martians got panned when it came out but a couple of reviewers I like have said that it's actually a very good game that suffered from a horrible rulebook; you can get a better rulebook on BGG and it only costs $15 now.) Le Havre is a game on my "to play at some point list" - I've heard good things!
