Solomon Islands has some of the highest energy costs in the world. The country relies on expensive imported fuel for almost 100% of its electricity generation. Expensive electricity affects the delivery of services such as health and education. At Betikama High School near Honiara, the capital of Solomon Islands, high cost electricity is impacting the school’s ability to deliver quality education to more than 500 students. This is the story of Karen and Dennis who hope that one day electricity will be made cheaper for Betikama.
