The SMS version sounds great using the Japanese Mk III console. That FM chip makes all the difference.

Had the Amstrad CPC port back in the day and liked a lot as it was really faithful with the arcade.Spent many hours completing rooms and I wasn't able to beat it.Thanks for the video

I rocked the gameboy version for a long time! Beat it twice between 99 and 2000…. Years later went through my dads nes collection and ended up playing it again to full completion!

It took me five years to beat this game. I finished it right before I graduated high school. I bought Solomon’s Club with my graduation money and beat it in a week. Fond memories for sure.

This was my favorite game when I was a kid I was always humming the music when I was Young. My favorite phrase was the Master system version.

There's also a Game Boy Advance game called Tang Tang that is a Solomon's Key clone, as far as I can tell it isn't made or licensed by Tecmo.

Had the Game Boy version as a kid. To this day, I've got no idea why they changed the name of this version to Solomon's Club...

I only played the Amstrad CPC version and the NES version much later (on the Switch actually). This was pretty good everywhere.

I enjoyed all versions this time but there is something annoying in the Master System version: you can't jump while running. To do so you need to stop, press jump and then move left or right to be able to jump horizontally.

Śtephane Ruscher were all ports (versions) pretty good as in a 4 out of 5 or a 7 out of 10? for me some looked/sounded awful, crap, dreadful, garbage, horrible, rubbish, terrible

Solomon's Key sounds like a very good game! My favorite ports so far are the Amstrad CPC, NES, Sega Master System, and the Gameboy! However PC-Engine Zipang had a very cool 3D Animation in the intro!

Being a fixed screen game, I was expecting more from the CPC version. It's a decent conversion, but feels a bit unpolished. It's a bit on the slow side and there's sprite flickering.

Robocop, Chase HQ, Bombjack, Gryzor and P47 are just some of the really good CPC conversions. Check out Edge Grinder, Red Sunset and Star Sabre for modern CPC games with good scrolling ( even better on a real CRT monitor )

The 'cultural appropriation' was real on the PC Engine ... They completely 'Easternized' Solomon for their audience. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But the alphabet gang today, have fits when this is done in reverse. Lol!

Nah, doesn't apply here...the game was already a Japanese title to begin with, it was developed by Tecmo. So they would be culturally appropriating.... themselves...lol That said, in this case, the game was 'cannibalized' as a movie based tie in of a Japanese film at the time.
