Toni Lindgren (guitar), Andrew Foreman (bass), and I recorded this cover of Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill" in our studio and then hiked to this very pretty spot on a bluff by the Pacific ocean to shoot the video. Special thanks to our friends Alana and Marisa for operating the cameras on this shoot! You might remember Alana from when she sang "Mary Hamilton" and "Two Sisters" with me. A grand time was had by all, and we hope you enjoy this cover of one of PG's very best songs.

It took me a moment to realize Toni was playing the Bass Drum. Do you realize how good you have to be to finger-pick and play a drum at the same time? She's becoming Wrecking Crew good.

It was recorded in the studio and while it may well have been done in one take, all together, it could just as easily have been multitracked with all the parts, including the bass drum, played separately. Regardless of how it was recorded, this is a fine cover and Toni is an excellent musician.

The best yet. I like this better than original. Toni is so smooth on that guitar. It just fills the air with sweetness. Elle’s voice , tone, timing is something to behold. It’s captivating.

I never ceased to be amazed by the lazyness of so many comments. Before you fire off something critical about "recorded elsewhere", etc. just read the complete bloody description that tells you up front that the audio was done in a studio and reenacted on location. Come on folks, your better than this! That said....it's a wonderful cover.

I was a huge Genesis fan in high school in the 70s. Saw Peter Gabriel’s fist solo tour at the Troubadour in LA when I was 17. He played this song. You all did it justice. Beautiful cover. I am sure if Peter sees this he will be honored. You all are amazing. Thanks for sharing your art with us. Hugs from New Zealand.

I think this is my favorite song. My dad and I would sing this on the way home from school all the time. “Grab your things I’ve come to take you home”, classic dad joke. Graduated high school last May, college is all online don’t get to sing in the car with him anymore. Can’t wait til this pandemic is finally over. This is a lovely cover.

The one flaw that I can see is that they had Alana _behind_ the camera. I remember her previous appearance in front of the camera very clearly and I want it to happen more.

I have never really been a big Peter Gabriel fan. But this goes to show, a good song in someone else's hands can bring it life. And, of course, these gals (and guy) seem to bring every song they touch to new life.

Search for a band named Còig, from Nova Scotia, Canada. I love their version and have had the pleasure of seeing them perform it live. It's also featured on their CD, Rove.

Yes Garbriel's phrasing on the vocals and metre of the lyrics are very knotty and difficult to sing. This performance is wonderful. I have watched it many times.

I'm an old(ish) musician and long time fan of Genesis when PG was a member. This is, without doubt, my favourite song, it resonates with times in my life and makes it a song in my heart. You guys totally nailed it, I love this version, Reina your voice fits perfectly with your production. Toni as always is a fab guitarist and as if keeping that riff going isn't enough, she plays the bass drum. Thanks for making my day.

This is a paradigmatic example of why your videos are one of my "antidotes" to the sadness and isolation of the pandemic era in which we currently live; superb musicians, excellent video production and often suprising song choices. Never in my life would I have imagined that you would have covered a song like this, though. Thank you for the joy that you bring to me every Sunday and other days during the week. I have dreams of going to see your future concert with The Other Favorites at the Beacon Theater or Radio City Music Hall in NYC or maybe on the moon since you performed so wonderfully during your fantastic streamed concert in space 😊🎼🎵🎶🎸🚀❤

Ever since I was little my dad would play me this song and tell me of the way it reminded him of his own father. Now whenever I hear it i think of my dad - he’s passed it onto me. This is such a special song to me - so hearing this just filled my heart. What a beautiful cover - thank you for sharing this with the world 💕

Great to hear your version of Peter Gabriel's classic. Until fairly recently I lived in a house on Solsbury Hill, which is just outside the historic city of Bath in the UK. The hill itself has a flat top which is an Iron Age settlement, but the views are worth the effort of the climb!

I had to listen 10 times to your cover to understand why I like it so much. First of all, great song choice and beautiful cover ! The difference between the original and your cover is the kind of energy coming from the song. The PG's version is more linked to motion energy, your cover is more linked to fragility, a little as if Paul Simon interpreted it. You did a great job in Paul Simonizing Solsbury Hill, I love it. Congratulations to everyone involved in this little gem .

Playing it with bass keyboard and full drums lends itself to a pulsing, intense rendition. It's hard to replicate that with sa stripped down acoustic performance. I'm just learning this for solo guitar and this arrangement is a big help in getting a feel of another way it can be successfully performed.

I keep coming back to this version, liking it more than the more decorated original. This is simpler and purer- and a better way, I think, of expressing the spiritual experience described in the song.

I love how soft your guitar sounds even while using finger picks. Really great dynamics, but especially for a steel string. Also love your arrangement. Great harmonies, some lovely jazzy chords in there. Thanks for the music. - Guitarist for the last 25 years, mostly classical
