A diuretic is any substance that promotes diuresis, the increased production of urine. This includes forced diuresis. There are several categories of diuretics. All diuretics increase the excretion of water from bodies, although each class does so in a distinct way. Alternatively, an antidiuretic, such as vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone), is an agent or drug which reduces the excretion of water in urine.
Diuretic drugs increase urine output by the kidney (i.e., promote diuresis). This is accomplished by altering how the kidney handles sodium. If the kidney excretes more sodium, then water excretion will also increase. Most diuretics produce diuresis by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium at different segments of the renal tubular system. Sometimes a combination of two diuretics is given because this can be significantly more effective than either compound alone (synergistic effect).
Types and Examples of Diuretics-
(1) Examples of thiazide diuretics include:
Chlorothiazide (Diuril), Chlorthalidone, Hydrochlorothiazide (Microzide)
Indapamide, Metolazone
(2) Examples of loop diuretics include: Bumetanide (Bumex), Ethacrynic acid (Edecrin), Furosemide (Lasix), Torsemide (Demadex)
(3) Examples of potassium-sparing diuretics include:
Amiloride, Eplerenone (Inspra), Spironolactone (Aldactone), Triamterene (Dyrenium)

Sir you said [the movement of liquid from lower to higher concentration is called osmosis till the concentration become equal at both side of membrane] sir if something is moving from lower to higher how it possible the concentration becomes equal ??

This is theoretical aspect that it has to be moved from lower to higher conc. till the equilibrium is achieved but it is technically not possible always as you said it

sir if the osmotic diuretics are decreasing the sodium elimination then in point number 5 shouldnt it be "not used in sodium elimination" instead of retention.

Thanks. Osmotic diuretic may cause Chf To those person who is having heart problem. Because there will be more water (Fluid) retaintion and this may cause congestion in diff part as i have explain in CHF topic. Osmotic diuretic is not be reported for drug induced ototoxicity (As I know. )

Lower to higher osmosis. Ek osmosis and diffusion aur hyper toonic aur hypi tonic ke upar animation hai channel me. Aur osmotic diuretic ka bhi animation hai please wo dekh lijiye sab clear ho jayega

Adverse effect aise effect hain drugs ke jo hum usse expect nahi kete hai aur humko pata bhi nhai hota most of the case ki wo kya kya honge aur ye drugs ke conce ke karan ya bina uske bhi honsakte hai aur side effect se jyada danger hote hain
