Do any solar panels come with it at that price? Their website doesn’t mention that or the cost of additional panels.

Hi, one single solar panel cost $429, with the code:solar30 save $30. While if you buy a bundle of 4 solar panels, the price is $1199, which cost $299 each.

When I ordered I asked about a deal on their folding panels. There was a good discount available if you wanted to purchase 4 or 8 but nothing really for a single panel. However, their website offerings seem to change daily as I can no longer find that pricing and now there is a slight discount on 1, 2 or 4 panels.

Amazing piece of equipment. One easier way to tote your new power station would be to mount the portable power station on maybe a big wheel wagon to make it easier to tote around your yard or on a job site.

That is a great sign it's a well designed product when the power station does not shut itself down when the wall AC unit's compressor kicks on. I had a Goal Zero Yeti 6,000X that balked at starting a similar wall AC unit--- had to buy a soft start device on top of the very expensive 6KW power station. Thanks for the introduction to this product. First time I've seen a Mango Power Station.

A real game changer. For those who wanted to install a lithium setup in their small to medium RV. Well, it looks like they will avoid the install headaches of roof mounting panels and all the wiring that goes along with it. As long as you have the space, it will be great for most RV setups, or even for the nomads that livein their SUV's with a small trailor. This can also be used for other situations for or homes and offices. Very smart device

Funny, we are similar. I dont just “like” but crave: peace and quiet, I don’t even like the TV on plus I’m not a big TV watcher. I like a simple lifestyle, little to no clutter, financial independence and no drama. I choose to drive a 1998:Ford Ranger 4x4 as my daily driver. I too would love a small and simple living environment and really, an overall minimalistic lifestyle even though I own a 45’ Holiday Navigator, but I could easily downsize, sell our house and live in the RV and be in heaven! My wife and kids are the opposite…lots of noise, commotion, an inordinate amount of “stuff”, love shopping, spending lots of money on unnecessary “stuff” and having a huge 7400 square foot home. My wife drives a nice Mercedes. My solution is that I go camping a lot with just my bulldog, enjoying a simple existence and the peace and quiet out in the boondocks. Enjoyed the video!👍

Hmmm... As James has mentioned on his his videos before; standard RV batteries last about 3 or so years. It would take some effort to retrofit but I could see how 2 of these units could be put in an RV in place of batteries/inverter etc... (granted we don't know the amp hours). So not likely an option today... but I can see how future RV might have an all in one pack in place of batteries/inverter etc. Plus 5 year warranty! Very interesting product.

Great, great review video. Very nice score of $5-6K of equipment that's well made and super useful for many things. Because it's got lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4 is the chemical formula) batteries, it has a much longer life than Jackery's non-LiFePO4 lithium ion chemistry. LiFePO4 is one type of lithium ion battery, but is rarely called that, because if it's LiFePO4, no company wants it confused for being 500 cycle lithium ion when it is 2000 to 7000 cycle LiFePO4. Regarding 12V vs 48V, it doesn't matter what the internal voltage is, seeing as you never connect directly to it, always connect via input/output charger, charge controller, inverter, DC-DC converters, USB electronics, etc. They chose well when they sent you one. You did a great job of testing/showing what it can do. A lot of influencers just read whatever the promo materials say or a script, without actually doing tests/appilcations of the product that people want to see. The number of useless reviews I've seen of the Jackery 1000, 1500 Pro, 2000 Pro, various Bluettis, and so forth is astounding. Some products are better than others, and useless reviews don't help anyone figure out which is best for them. At around $1 per watt hour, this Mango E is not cheap, but neither are other things at around the same price point, most of which are inferior in terms of either power specs, port types, or power input/output rates/times. I'd sell most of those pricey 200W portable panels, or save them for use at remote worksites you go to in the Prius. I'd cover the roof of the cargo container with $50 used, clunky panels from Santan, for everyday charging at the shop. Maybe epoxy them right onto the container, and chisel them off or just leave them, if you move without taking the container.

You make a backup generator sound like it's a problem to own. I have a 30Kw Kohler whole house generator that is set to automatically exercise every two weeks and runs on natural gas so it never runs out of fuel. So far this year, it has provided backup power for 14 hours. The only maintenance I do is change the oil and filters (oil / air) once a year and ensure the coolant is at the correct level.

Think the biggest concern is the use of mosfets for daily use for a tradesman. Use of cheaper mosfets means longevity issues that will turn this into a large paper weight instead of using transformer for the inverter. The trade-off though is efficiency. Mosfets provide more efficiency. There's a reason why modern refrigerators don't last as long and aren't serviceable like the oldies from back in the day.

You know there are complete lines of tools from many manufacturers where you don’t need to use 120v power. Yes, battery powered tools! What a concept! I have gone completely “cordless” for my tool solutions. I’m a DeWalt person, but any will do, as long as it works for you. Getting the RV over to “cordless” now. Going to take about a year as there aren’t the pieces I need yet. Yes, I know there are companies for this - but I want a different solution than the piece it together setups. The solar panels are not what I need yet - not enough output for the size. Look at solutions like the Bluetti AC500 units with B300S packs. Finding the panels is the problem! We would rather not have a big generator. If you need charging 2000 Honda would do the trick and stay pretty quiet. Great video. A friend that’s a mechanic had similar situation. He had these concrete blocks he bought and bolted mounting plates to. He positioned them with a bobcat then erected a solar canopy over it. It all bolted together with 1/2” bolts and steel I beam. He used the blocks instead of permanent in ground foundation in case he wanted to take apart and move. But the concrete blocks weight 1/2 a ton and are every 12 feet. He then mounted the kit he bought. It has the equivalent of 3 Tesla power wall units and I think it’s 12000-15000 watt solar. Downside is it was pricey, but in his case he was looking at having half a mile of power line run into his property.

awesome. towards the end reminded me of Prodigy video camera work. Yeah I'll be nice. Just bought 4th RV. Where I'm lost is how to manage it's system. I have an inverter. I have a generator. The manuals are so Greek I can't figure out what I need to do to avoid sitting dry docked with no power and not to be able to start the damn vehicle. Given the system, I should be ok, but don't have a clue. maybe you would get stupid high views how to survive for a week. The manual is Greek and uh sorry for any implication there. Awesome stuff bro. please visit floriduh to inspect my forza roof. peace.

I have been using solar generators for several yrs boondocking. I have 4 so I can rotate and use portable panels and have endless power I can clean and move to get the most out of portable suitcase panels. I only wish someone would invent a heater that will heat 150 Sq feet and have no fumes or smoke to worry about. One using no propane, diesel or wood and run off one solar generator weighting about 30 lbs. for 8 to 10 hrs. Weight is the factor for any full time RV er. .

I’m so impressed with your video James as you are tackling a subject that we all need to consider. Power outages are going to be with us this winter throughout the world. If it’s for boon docking or any RV I have never seen anything this good. The larger units will be suitable for houses and people throughout Europe will be interested in these as they don’t come with the risks of generators. I have searched the companies website and I might call them myself. You really have opened my eyes to the possibilities of this. I’m currently looking at a property in New England with a hundred or so acres. They have built a water fed geothermal system that means the entire electricity system is free. It’s already built but can you imagine the value of fee power in any weather conditions? I’m going to fly over to see for myself. The house is enormous and there’s the potential for further homes and an RV Park within walking distance from the beach. With it’s own spring water it sounds like a dream. It has an old barn larger than most homes and totally renovated by the Amish community. If you ever want to enjoy the facilities it’s entirely free just for you. All I need is some help in finding an RV for us. It’s an unconditional offer should you ever consider a move to the east coast. It’s even got it’s own fully stocked fresh water fishing 🎣 and lots of animals deep in the woods. It’s why I’m interested in your trial and thought I’d mention my thoughts. I have no idea if you have a family etc. but it would be a heaven for children. Take care x

Build a solar setup on a box trailer, panels on roof and on the sides with hinge frame. Look for 300-400w used panels they sell for less then $100 each. Inverters, controllers, battries, backup generator with transfer switch and breaker panel all in trailer. Portable and self contained.

This is what I have been thinking as well, I do like a long warranty. Thinking of a lithium battery for the front of the trailer that stays charged that would somewhat back me up if solar generator fails, battery would run most things for a short time.

Put solar setup on your RV park RV in sun when necessary. That way you have it available at the shop and when you head on out for some R&R in your RV.

James I have questions. Perhaps over the next few months of testing this new power in a box you can address them. 1- Can those solar panels be mounted on the roof, is that wise? 2-Can you use any brand panel with this box? 3- If I want to run my 15,000 BTU a/c and my 3-way refrigerator at the same time will this work (and how long will it last if the box starts at 100% charge and still connected to solar to charge it ((is that doable)? 4-If I only have 400W solar is that sufficient to keep the box powered? 5-Then why would need a generator?

Just running the AC for a few hours in the full power of the AZ sun on a sunny clear day is just not going to cut it for off grid needs. I'll stick to my flawless Honda 2000 generators for now. I'm hoping they get a viable option soon.

Could you build up your setup on an inexpensive flatbed trailer panels batteries etc all on the trailer and just plug it in to your shop building as needed. It is easily moveable to where ever you go an can be broken down once you find your perm location.

@@AZExpert not really you have the car and can still use it as normal. But you can power pretty much anything off it for a fraction of the cost. $640 aud ebay inverter and $800 aud in batteries if bought new. And uses 1/3 the fuel of a traditional generator. Far from the $3100 usd of the mango power e that will only run for 3hours with the a/c on.

@@rogerhewett2539 There are many ways to hack anything, but I think you misunderstand my needs. If I were to go full Prius Vanlife, I would definitely consider it, especially as I have a solar roof. But I'd still rather have a Prius PlugIn at that rate, but risking my work truck on the shop is silly, when I have a better power station with the RV already, but I don't want to risk that either as a shop tool. Thanks!

I have the same air hose and compressor. Throw a few coffee makers on that bad boy, that will test it out. You will want to replace those small plastic wheels for rubber or even better, steel wheels. With those rocks you will be carrying it soon. Your house system will shut down with city power loss? How smart is that?

Very interesting! I have always been interested in the quality of the power that these inverters provide. Sine wave purity, distortion, etc. the signal condition will affect power factor and the life of the source and loads.
