so on the first equation you couldn't just multiply both sides by 7 first to cancel out the 7? 7 x 2a/7-5=3 x 7, the 7s cancel out leaving 2a - 5=21...?

Example problems for me were not very clear to understand

I thought PEMDAS was from the top to bottom not bottom to top.
