Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you'll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

@Stin Ray. Let me tell you in how many ways Sal exceeds your "superior" teaching style. Reason number one, his stuff is free, as in COMPLETELY UNCONDITIONALLY free. How much does it cost to attend your lessons sir? Right. Secondly, Sal doesn't act like a total douchebag, generalizing other teachers. (Out of jealousy perhaps? I'm not judging though, just speculating). Third, he has undoubtably a vastly larger knowledgebase than you. Because if you were truly that magnificent as you let us think you are, then how come we have never heard of you? Let me guess, you're a brilliant mind seeking to live a life in solitude? I'm sure that's it. And lastly, who are you to decide which style of teaching fits everyone's needs and should be aknowledged as a universal standard. There is no such thing my friend. Teaching is about passing on knowledge. The way one achievs this is by commitment and effort. What Sal is doing with his website is extraordinary, the amount of effort he has invested in terms of hours, available for free, for everyone out there results in a massive amount of knowledge, his knowledge, being available for millions of people around the world. That is teaching in it's purest form. Not in your entire life will you achieve this. So don't you come in here and disrespect this magnificent man, nor try to make us believe you are better than him. Because, sorry to say, but even though i don't know you, you are simply not. Btw, fyi, i'm a high school student. I have a math teacher, a brilliant man without a doubt, but he utilizes a style of teaching that just doesn't fit my needs. I hardly pick up anything from his lessons. When i come home, i look up the subjects we had seen that day on Khan Academy, and each week after when we have our lab exercises i rarely have trouble completing them. All thanks to Sal. He has taught me more in hours than i have learned from any school i've been in for years. That being said, some student actually prefere our math teacher's lessons above anything. But that's the point, everyone is different. Not everyone is equally intelligent. But i believe that with effort and time everyone can achieve great knowledge. Saying that, if you can't keep up with "college" teaching, you are dumb is simply rediculous and just proves you are obviously not very intelligent.

Much more directly, but less poetically, the Latin word for distance is spatium. For this simple reason, we will use s0 (s nought) for the initial location on a path, s for the location on the path any time after that, and Δs (delta s) for the space traversed going from one location to the other -- the distance

i learned this on sixth grade, and you should've change rate into speed and you could explain easierin this way: if the question is about to find the time, you could just divide the distance by the speed stated in the question it is the same working if u want to find the distance and the speed. just divide the other stated units. ex: the distance between town a and town b is 147km. a van takes 3 hours to travel fro town a to town b. what is the speed of the van? we know that the distance is 147 km, and the time is 3h. so we just divide the distance by the time so it would be 147:3 which equals to 49. so the answer will be 49km/hour

0:12 3 Minutes per second LOL. Incidentally, this is one of the core problems with a tensed theory of time. Simply put, how "quickly" does the present become the past, or the future become the present? This seems like a nonsensical question, and might explain why "the flow of time" is (possibly) an incoherent notion.

No, rate is the same thing as speed which is a scalar magnitude and velocity is a vector magnitud, the difference between them is that in velocity you include speed + direction and speed doesnt tell you in which direction the object is moving.

How does this support the idea of a vector being tangible if we know there is always an outside reference from to which the ever changing current spacial awareness is formless, any direction or dimension we observe or label is nothing but imagination filling a hole of ignorance. How can there be any direction if there is no known solid reality to anchor a reference frame. Would it be fare to purpose we create logic that works if others are fooled by it and believe it to be truth?

Ohhh, you are right... Your answer just made me realize my velocity per second was higher than khan's example, I actually thought X person was going at the same velocity of khan's example even though I was the one who had made up the problem: 3 m/s. Now I understand why I got a lower amount of time, its velocity was higher... I guess I was knee-deep in stuff yesterday and my head was just full of things that I couldn't even realize about this, hahaha... Cant believe it. Thank you for answering.

The last few seconds of the video doesn't make sense the way he explained it. If we assume + is east and - is west, then if the problem were west, we'd have a negative in the numerator and a negative in the denominator, so it would produce a positive answer (east), when it should still be west.

you get same answer from writing out "t" as seconds "s" 3m/s=720m/s 3m=720m 1m=240m but somehow that can't be right? or is it? time can be seconds right? but then it says 1m is 240 meters what kind of answer is that? *confused*
