Najmo was only 11 years old when she escaped a terrifying reality and an arranged marriage in Somalia. Today she makes Social Media videos to empower girls around the world.

Masha Allah. She's beautiful inside and out as a human being. Thank you, Iceland, in particular, this Icelandic family to helping Najmo. To all the people here with the negative comments towards Najma, Shame on you. I am a Somali man, and I ask you, who are you to judge about the way she dresses or covers her hair. Only can Allah can judge. Imagine being a teenager and fleeing your country. Still Najmo is proud of her heritage and speaks fluent Somali. SO-IS

Hey I just bumped into this video and I was totally look so similar I’m so happy you so see that I’m a Nigeria and I live in Slovenia nowLife Slovenia is not easy I’ll be here for five years I cannot get a job because I don’t speak the language I have to try to go into KZfaq for the excuse I know when I was still very tender I wish I could come to Iceland when they find a job or something probably to meet you as well

I'm a Somali myself from the Ethiopian Somali Region. I left when I was 8 so I can relate to her. She is young and very smart girl. I do watch some of her videos on social media and while she is so hilarious, she also delivers meaningful messages. I fully support her. Despite all the obstacles and problems she never forgot about her people. This is not usually the case. We only know people like Ayan Hirsi who are resentful, liars and blame their problems on the Somali people. Najma kept her Somaliness intact, her friendship (I watched one video with her male friend whom they spent time together in the Sahara). On the Somali side, the majority of them are judgemental but they don't mean anything harm it's just who they are. Najma is a fresh air. Thank you Najma.

Can u see the way she is taking "the Somalian society is very wrong" SubhanaAllah.This girl is very unlucky it looks like she forgote the teachings of Islaam.Worldly issues can't help because it's for a very short time.I think it's always important to obey the teaching of your God and be obedient to your parents.Sorry!!!

I'm reer Waqooyi but she's doing just fine in Iceland...why don't you move to the house of saud or some other intolerant hell hole in the muslim world so you can worship your arab masters? Or, better yet... how about we focus on building some 21st century infrastructure in our capital Hargeysa, instead of worrying about what our somali women wear and looking like we're still stuck in the 7th century. Wakeup, the arab is not your friend.

Not all muslims wear a hijab. A hijab just means curtain or covering. From what I can see she is covering her body.
