My Tav is very unexpressive.... Blank stare and half smile no matter what. My game is broken or my Tav is on some strong stuff all the time

More than that, they made **Dragonborn** Tav super expressive too. I was fully expecting to have generic lizard face the entire time, but my Silver Paladin flips from "stoic dragon" to "derpy leopard gecko" constantly, and it's great. They look so good when emoting, it's actually made it difficult for me to play other races now.

I simp for Karlach, she'd ruin my life by setting all my furniture on fire. xD

I saw someone mention that it depends on which character is second in the party line up after Tav but I can’t confirm.

I saw a comment on another video saying he would pick which ever companion (besides himself) has the highest approval with Tav.

pretty sure i heard somewhere that i changes depending on which character your Tav has the best relationship with, so for me i got Shadowheart.

You don't have to! Just be nice to him andvtalk to him often, respect his bodily autonomy when it comes up, and don't be full on Lawful Stupid. A lot of his evil impulses are only minor aprovals, so they are negligable. Also, do silly whimsical shit sometimes like talking to cats and saying 'baaaah' to the redcap... he's easily amused and these are harmless ways to gain little aproval points.

While I don't have bg3, I had a DnD character I wanted to use as inspiration for my Tav if/when I get a chance. She's very much a sweetheart who would hate to act selfishly so he'd like her. (And even if I don't romance Astarion she'd want to be close to him, because in her og character concept... Her brother is a vampire and her goal was to find him. I know that's not in the plot so it's just headcanon but the image of her talking about her brother with him in a sweet moment 🥺) and the fact that talking to cats and such is EXACTLY what she would do anyway is perfect

The Necromancy of That. A book you find in Blighted Village

The Necromancy of Thay, you can find that magic tome locked away down in the secret lair of the (non-evil) Necromancer Ilyn Toth, accessible from the Alchemist cellar of the apothecary's house at the entrance to Blithed Village (the house near the well). Do give the tome to Astarion, it helps to advance his own quest. You can also destroy it (don't), read it yourself (nah, the Dank Crypt has an amulet of Speak with Dead for free just lying around), or feed it to Galer (no!). But to open it, you first need the purple gem from the Whispering Depth phase spider caves in Blighted Village. Whoever character unlocks the Necromanca of Thay with the gem and opens it to read it is the character the books gets locked to... so be careful. You can unlock it with the gem and then the game will give you the option to either open it yourself, hand it to Astarion (which gives his approval), or hand it to Gale. Opening the tome grants whoever first did it the ritual to Speak with Dead, which is nice for a rogue. (You can also get a Speak with Dead amulet from Wither's Dank Crypt, so your player character doesnt lose out if you give Astarion the book.) The tome's user can try reading the first three pages, but it gets creasingly difficult due to the spirits guarding the tome. To fully read and decipher the Necromancy of Thay, you need to wait until Act 3 and find the Tharchiate Codex book in the rare book vault in Sorcerous Sundries library in Ramazith's Tower (where the wizard Lorroakan is). You have to go there anyway, firstly because of the Lorroakan quest, secondly because the vault also contains a book Gale wants to read (not to eat): The Annals of Karsus. Keep a Remove Curse spell handy before letting Astarion read the Tharchiate Codex, because he gets a curse from it.... but also the cypher to placate the spirits that guard the Necromancy tome and deciphers its contents fully, which gains him another ritual spells (summon ghouls) and a special Forbidden Knowledge bonus. Breaking the curse from the Tharchiate Codex also grants him a permanent blessing (which renews after each long rest, only goes away if he dies fully and has to be revived by Withers).

And the moment you refer to is one of my favorite OMG Gale moments. Because he always did that in different places in act 2 for me, and always when i least expected it :D

@@MoonsongReverb he did it for me right after we had killed then “welcome party” and the “blight monsters” nearby in the Shadowlands. I was thinking “Gale my dude I am covered in the blood of goblins, a drider, and whatever goo comes out of dead plant monsters… now is not the time to be flirting” 😂😂 (I’m quite certain at that point on me there was more blood visible than clothing)

@@elenalizabeth For me it happened in the Shadow cursed Lands itself first. In my first play through, it was in the center, after killing some Shadow cursed people. In my 4th playthrough, it was right after leaving the Last Light Inn and killing a bunch of cursed Ravens. "OMG Gale.... no matter how bad we look right now. Thank you, for finally giving me a sign. And yes, i want you, too.", that's what my character would say. :D

I mean, it IS kinda out of left field, but it's definitely funny.
