Just to clarify, Peanuts are native to south AMERICA, not south Africa.... Later in the video they mentioned that they were introduced to the rest of the world by the Spanish, which is correct.

Correction: Peanuts originated in South AMERICA. You said South Africa, but then went on to say Spanish explorers introduced them to Africa… so that’s impossible. Not to mention the Incas created peanut butter prior to ever meeting the Spaniards.

I’ve lived my entire life with a crippling fear of peanut butter. I never knew what was wrong with me, and I always thought I was a freak… alone in the world… that I would never find love. Recently, I made the decision that I couldn’t live like this anymore. What I was doing couldn’t even be called living, so I started my journey of healing, and began to slowly expose myself to peanut butter and peanut butter related materials. A search for “inoffensive peanut butter content” lead me to this video, and when I heard the narrator describe my exact phobia, I finally felt validated for the first time in my life. Thank you weird history for saving me from my suffocating solace

I make a grilled peanut butter sandwich on multi-grained bread, with smooth peanut butter, raspberry jam, fresh raspberries or black berries, and a few chopped peanuts or walnuts. Once you grill it in the cast iron frying pan, the peanut butter gets gooey. And, by adding fresh berries and jam, it elevates it to gourmet level.

The army loves peanut butter in MREs. They pack it with fortified vitamins so they can say you got the right amount of nutrition. If you watch any vintage ration reviews online. You’ll almost always find that as most food has spoiled. The peanut butter is still perfectly edible. The lack of water and the balance of fully hydrogenated oils gives it amazing shelf life.

Speak for yourself !! I grew up on Skippy PB, but after I matured and tried unadulterated peanut butter, I was won over. Peanuts in their pure state, with a little bit of salt, is unassailable. Others can add sugar and hydrogenated oil to their peanuts, but not me. Besides, how can you state that "nobody likes" pure organic PB, when it represents a significant portion of the market? Oh well.

After a grueling endurance workout on my Rollerblade Macroblade 110 3WD inline skates, my favorite recovery meal consists of two layers of Jif Natural Creamy Peanut Butter (the one without the hydrogenated oils that also doesn’t need to be refrigerated) holding a layer of Aunt Sue’s Raw and Unfiltered Wildflower Honey, a sliced Chiquita banana (or whatever brand that’s available) and one of Smucker’s Blackberry Fruit Spreads (their sugar-free seedless blackberry jam is the easiest one of this flavor to find without going online), all brought together between two slices of Private Selection Wide-Pan Whole Wheat Bread.
