The Undead are very Egyptian-like. The ziggurat is an actual Egyptian building. The Ubdead got their architecture from the Nerubians.

And the Nerubians got their architecture from the Tol'vir. Which are very Egyptian like race with stone structures. The result of being made by the Titans.

Most of this concept art(not *all*, but most) can also be found in the Art of Warcraft book that came with the War3 Collector's Edition, which has very awesome stuff. The brunt of the concept art on Warcraft III was done by the likes of Samwise Didier and Trevor Jacobs(he did most of the Night Elf trees and Goblins), and occasionally some input from Stuart Rose and Chris Metzen. Justin Thavirat did the CG art for the game covers. A lot of the text pieces like at 3:36 were usually written and thought of by Metzen and Samwise on the spot. Another cool detail is that the wolf/bear/raven sketch is a direct nod to the painting 'Allegory of Prudence' by Titian, a rennaisance artist.

Thanks a ton for that information! Awesome stuff to know. I didn't know there was an Art of Warcraft book-I just thought there was a World of Warcraft one. I may have to look into buying that sometime.

It collects a lot of concept art from Warcraft's entire history up to that point - that includes much of the manual artwork for Warcraft 1 and 2, but most of the book is very much dedicated to Warcraft III.

You sound so disheartened and indifferent when going through the art concepts compared to your enthusiasm in the videos for Easter Eggs 😢 But thank you so much for showing us all these, really love seeing what were in the dev's mind BTS. They initially planned for a Goblin race too, that's why there was so much effort put into its development, but guess it didn't work out after all. ❤️

Hey Abel, thank you for creating the Warcraft III Easter Eggs series, I watched all the episodes and I really liked it. In general, I love this kind of content. :> Hopefully, soon, you'll an idea for another series :) maybe diablo.. ? or starcraft.. or even warcraft 1 & 2 but they are just too old

Yeah, I'd love to expand my scope of things to cover, but I'm just not sure how many secrets they even have. Now that Starcraft is free for download online, I may see if I can open the campaign files for those and see what I can find. The Starcraft map editor is a bit wonky, though. So we'll see.

I will when I have time. I'm not one of those KZfaqrs who has a Patreon account and gets money for making videos, so I don't have very much free time on my hands between my job and family life. thank you for you job. i really enjoy discover this video about w3 art work as i havnt dvd bonus first time i see that. its very interesting for a fan of w3 to see that. this make me joy to discover that and anslo sadness cause many of arts works are really good and non used on final games :/. expectially tree for night elves but also is good that developers didnt make illidan with a katana sword it just look like as a jedi on the a.w. lmao continue men !

I think Warcraft 3 directors made strange decision to attract asian customers - from Japan and Korea primarely. That's why orcs and elves obtain ridiculous samurai -like outfit and weapons. This is so disappointing because Warcraft 2 was the precious jewel of medieval European art.

Actually, I blame that on Samwise Didier... he loves Chinese and Japanese fantasy culture, so he invented pandaren and put all that stuff in there. He was the one who did the Blademaster's voice, who's clearly based on a samurai warrior with a sashimono and everything, and has an Asian accent, which I always thought was so weird for an orc.
