I always also liked that Amanda in this film was the rare example of a 'popular girl' stereotype that was fucking human and not just some shallow superficial girl. Sure, she's pretty and popular, but that doesn't define her character. She's warm, has a moral compass, she grows to stand up for herself, and at the end of the film, you never feel 'sorry' that she didn't end up getting the guy, because what she really needed was to stand on her own 'two feet' all along and follow what she knew was right. The fact that's also friends with Duncan and Watts by the end as well is beyond adorable. It just goes to show you that even with either Duncan and Amanda, there's no excuse for high school movies having shitty one-dimensional stereotypes of 'bad boys' or 'popular girls,' when there's so much more that you can flesh out. Bravo, John Hughes, Bravo.

You know what's a "Real" Joke, none of Hardy's "Boyz" stood up to Duncan and his "Crew". They were too scared to.

I like that you can tell Duncan is pissed about what he just heard the ex-bf say before he walked in. Probably why he tells him that he deserves what he's about to do to him.
