Hats off to you! Didi, for this splendid video. You are doing this selflessly without any ulterior motive but Mr. Devdutt Patnaik's intention is to make money. For that he has to write in a fashion, that people will buy his books. Truth/teaching or improvement of the society is not his concern. I have seen many of his videos which looks brilliant for somebody who have no spiritual inclination, but half-cooked and absurd at times to people who are spiritual. Thank you very much for showing the courage to expose him. You are doing 'Nishkaama karma' and Mr.Patnaik is doing 'Sakaama Karma' for which he will have karmic reaction! In Gita Bhagvan says that 'Scholars should not mislead/confuse novice minds'.

First thing .... You are Awesome!!! Things i must appreciate. 1) Its almost impossible to speak on this topic for 30min ... atleast for me. 2) Which will include such a detalied explaination and a smooth way to convey the message with a such a vast knowledge and easy convey of messages. 3) Almost this can be concluded as a summary of Bhagwat Gita's very important message. 4) A beautiful explaination of what karma is. This is almost the best explaination i have ever heard with examples after my experience of watching few episodes of Krishna. 5) What a pretty voice you have and such a superior control over your language. I would love if you translate all the teaching of Bhagwat Gita in your own words and with such a great examples and descriptions. Some people rearely read books like me but your videos can really make then understand what the truth of Life. I must appreciate you for taking such a efforts in making this videos and your research and vast knowledge about it.

Panch Pandvaas suffered also, due to the killings they did in the War, all dead people's spirits, came and began to haunt them and caused great mental turmoil in their minds, only when they did Shraddh Ceremony for all dead soldiers, only then they were free from such trouble. All these other stories are found in different local versions of the Mahabharata.

Hello Soumya, so glad you found my style of teaching helpful. To answer your question - I have been into Vedantic spirituality since my childhood due to my mother being a ardent devotee of Shriram Sharma Acharyaji and also of Sri Ramakrishna and Sarada Ma. So she introduced me to the writings of Shriram Sharmaji very early when I was in school itself. He is my 1st guru. And since he referred to Sri Aurobindo and Swami Vivekananda often, I became curious and started reading their writings as well. After that I gained knowledge from my readings of their and other Vedantic literature and also from my own spiritual experiences.

hye pulkit , I have question on the karma philosophy of the eye-for-eye action as we know that lord Rama killed the Bali for his wrong deeds with his brother and after that in Dwapar Yug Lord Krishna(the reincarnation of Shri Rama) was killed the a hunter and archer jara in mahabharata as the Lord said ,""O Jara, you were Bali in your previous birth, killed by myself as Rama in Tretayuga. Here you had a chance to even it and since all acts in this world are done as desired by me, you need not worry for this". So this act in the histroy also shows the karma as eye-for-eye action and as said that if X killed the Y then after some ages the Y killed the X for revenge but the karma reacts to the divine intellegience presence in us only and gives the punishment on the basis intention and will of the person. So I have question as Can you explain this past or the karma is eye-for-eye action?

Respected I want to raise one point here a person is really nice by heart and outwardly now such person suffers from cancer, recovers and again recurrence takes place and does not recover without giving any trouble to family despite having such a crude disease. In which Karmic Category does this fall?
@Spiritualbee
@Spiritualbee 8 жыл бұрын
+S G Kulkarni There are 2 thing here to keep in mind - this first is that everything bad that happens to us is not because of past karma. Genetic mutations, environmental pollution, bad diet etc...cancer has many causes. Also whether a particular bad event is because of past Prarabdha karma or an accident we cannot say because as the Gita Says - Gahana Karmanogati - meaning that the workings of karma are extremely complex and cannot be understood by a normal mind. Only a Rishi can unravel the past actions of an individual.
@RaghuLohe
@RaghuLohe 8 жыл бұрын
+The Spiritual Bee So you mean to say not everything bad that happen to human being is not because of past karma? I am totally confused now.
@Spiritualbee
@Spiritualbee 8 жыл бұрын
+Raghu Lohe Yes that is correct. Everything bad that happens is NOT because of past prarabdha karma. Bad things happen for a variety of reasons and past karma is only one of many causes. For example, 1. Sometimes that which we consider bad, is actually very good for us. Steve Jobs was fired from Apple the company he founded and that on the surface looked like a bad event...but later he used the opportunity started a well known animation company which I think got acquired by Apple again...and he got a chance to return to the company he had founded. So this is one example. 2. Sometimes good people suffer voluntarily for a higher cause - e.g. Gandhiji went to jail for India's freedom and even had to listen to harsh words spoken by his own countrymen. 3. Chance and free will of others has a role to play as well. Sometimes we are at the wrong place at the wrong time. Other causes exist as well. This q actually has been wonderfully answered by Shriram Sharmaji in his book Gahana Karmanogati (link in this video's youtube description box) Do read it if you are conversant with hindi. Otherwise I will make a video explaining this very point..but it may take a while. Oh...I just remembered another article you can read (it is a translation of the last pages of Gahana Karmanogati): guidingthoughts.blogspot.in/2013/02/the-laws-of-karma-5-are-misfortunes.html pulkit

Pulkit didi, when we die - it is said that mind + consciousness leaves the body. But I believe, only the mind leaves the body. And not consciousness. Since we all source from the infinite ocean of divine consciousness - how can that consciousness attach itself to the body, or leave the body. So, when we die, the infinite ocean of divine consciousness is at it is. Only our mind leaves the body. It is wrong to say that consciousness also leaves the body - since the infinite ocean of divine consciousness is eternal. Only, when a man dies, he is incapable to source from the infinite ocean of divine consciousness. And only the scum (ego-centric mind) leaves the body. Am I correct? Thanks a lot for answering my question 🙏🙏

"Jab jaago, tabhi savera" If you have realised that u did something wrong in the past, it means u have taken the first step. The best way to clear your bad deeds is to help others especially ppl in need. And pls dont do it cuz u wanna clear your bad deeds, but instead do it in a way of giving something good to the world. The peace that you will get by helping poor n needy, will surely build a confidence in you and will help you overcoming the constant fear of punishment n suffering.

I have a question. If Krishna asked Arjuna to fight the war and SUPPOSE Arjuna had to face bad karma because of his bad action of killing, then shouldn't Krishna also face the same bad karma as he was the one who asked Arjuna to fight the war? This is a imaginary question assuming that karma is tit for tat. I also have another question. Suppose a person X breaks person Y's hand out of feelings of anger and hate. Since person Y's hand is broken he may have difficulty in doing so many day to day tasks. He may also start cursing everything and everyone because of his anger due to his disability. Will person X, the one broke person Y's hand also receive the bad karma of person Y who is cursing everyone due to his disability and facing difficulties in day to day actions?
@Spiritualbee
@Spiritualbee 5 жыл бұрын
The first thing we must understand is that Karma is NOT tit for tat. The law of Karma works in a very different manner and I have explained that in the video - "law of karma is NOT eye for an eye". I think you may have watched it. Krishna is an Avatar and God himself to whom the past present and future of the whole Universe including Arjuna was fully known. Hence he could not have given Arjuna the wrong advice. Krishna also had the power to erase all of Arjunas past Karmas and free him from cycle of birth and death. Another thing to understand is that killing people is not always wrong - there are times when war is also the right thing to do. Suppose a neighbouring nation attacks India - would we be wrong to fight back? Absolutely not. War is justified when it comes to self defense or standing up for the rights of the oppressed. Arjuna too was being weak in not fighting his cousins, even though they committed many injustices. That is why Krishna scolded him and told him to fight. (I have a video on Maharishi Ramana sitting on tiger skins where I discuss how Vedanta does not support absolute ahimsa. You can watch it to understand this point in more detail.)

+Sandeep Kumar You asked very good question. Food is meant for energy to perform activity. But we forget this, now a days we take food mostly for enjoyment and we degrade so much in it that causes harm to other creatures. Actually they don't eat meat as food but for pleasure. if there is other sources are available then there is no reason for eating meat. by the way, there are many vegetarian people in india from generation to generation and they are healthy.

Those who are Hindus have little difficulty in believing in the Law of Karma. I agree the intentions and motives have more weightage than the act itself, however once we know how the Law works, it's difficult not to do good deeds without expecting fruitful returns. That is, it is difficult to perform nishkama karma as most of us are not that pure and spiritually evolved or deep down we know we will reap benefits in the near or far future. Is there any advice on how to perform real nishkama karma?
@Spiritualbee
@Spiritualbee 7 жыл бұрын
Mega, Your question is very practical. The benefits of Nishkama Karma actually far outweigh those of performing Karma by Kamana (desire). The benefits of Kamana Karma are very minor and mostly related to the material world (for example we study hard to get a good job). But as long as one is still caught up in the entanglement of Maya, such benefits come with the accompaniment of sorrow, as one has not overcome one's attachments to the results of such karma (for example we lose our job then we are thrown into depression because of excessive attachment to the prestige and sense of self worth that we have falsely ascribed to the job). By performing Nishkama Karma, we can first and foremost keep our mental balance when the results are not to are liking. Secondly we do not tie our self worth to things outside but to what lies inside - our Atman and its infinite powers. We are therefore able to pick ourselves up and fight again. By steadily performing Nishkama Karma, we can rise up in consciousness and slowly overcome even the sorrows of the world and feel the pure love of God surrounding us in good times and bad. For e.g. Swami Vivekananda in his last days when he bore many illnesses used to feel the hands of Mother Kali holding his at all times. This experiencing of God's ACTUAL presence is the most rewarding of all rewards. Its indescribably calming and peaceful. Nishkama karma is not hard at all especially for women. Its easy for men too, but women have so developed in evolution that is comes easier. Most perform it everyday when they take care of their children, husbands and families in so many selfless ways, putting their own needs aside. Best attitude for work is to do it honestly, to the best of our abilities and for the good of others, keeping our personal desires aside. And a higher attitude beyond this is to offer our work as prasad to the Divine. Let the divine decide if the fruits of this work shld come to us or not.

Ok oK I need to commend you first for your passion in explaining. I am not sold on to this ideology. You are just defending telling it is not E for E T for T.. I understand it is the intention not just the action. Question to you why certain people are prone to commit heinous crime. Human brain is highly complicated and so many factors are involved in it. MB happened in the ancient time when there were no psychology experts. In BG Arjuna poses a question why people do sinful activities knowingly and not knowingly. Krishna just answers it is greed. Question is what makes some to be greedy ? Krishna claims as a God he knew the past present and future, then he should have known why Duryodan was made to be greedy. Thanks
