Marissa Urias exactly! she acts like she’s the only one affected by his loss, or like she’s thee only one that has a right to feel angry! I get it, you lost your husband, the love of your life, and the person you’d built your life with. well, guess what? Amelia lost not only her brother but her father figure, the only person in her family that cared about, practically raised her, and never turned his back on her. She’s earned the right to say goodbye to brother. The fact that she didn’t even call her so she could say goodbye is soooo disrespectful. She owed her that much.

Owen suffered too, and I don't even like him, but Owen suffered too when Cristina was in there. Callie kept on acting like she was there, when she was NOT. she received the money and she talks like she was in there

She took Arizona's abuse while also grieving the loss of her child's father/ her best friend and raising a child AND being a surgeon. She was the good man in that storm. Arizona's actions although understable were awful! Callie deserves better than this.

@@Sayonararuiz I don't know, I've always hated the way Mer dealt with Derek's death. And it all started when she decided to unplug him without even calling his family first to let them know about the accident. I understand that no one gets to complain 'cause she just lost the love of her life and the father of her children, but still, he had a loving family and they never got to say goodbye. Mer took that moment from them. I hate that Derek died with just her in the room when he literally told her once that he would want his sisters and mother there to say goodbye if he were brain dead.

Being a sister and being a wife are two totally different dynamics though. She had children with Derek. She was Derek’s everything. Yes Amelia knew Derek her whole life but Meredith and his family was HIS whole life. Yes Amelia absolutely does deserve to be in pain. But she has no business telling Meredith “how could you do this to me?” Because Meredith was in shock seeing the woman who was supposed to save her husbands life and failed. Amelia gets to grieve, she gets to fall apart. But because Meredith has to raise her kids she can’t. And that was HER HUSBAND. Her love. Her world. I understand both sides as a sister and a wife. I love my brother to death, but if I lost my husband? The man who knows me better than anyone in this life. The man I have a daughter with. I don’t know if I could ever survive that. Being a sister is not more than being a wife. So yes neither of their pain should be disregarded, but don’t say “but especially Amelia’s”

Ana Donner amelia wasn’t saying you don’t have the right to be in pain, she was saying that she had the right to see him and say goodbye for one last time. idc what anyone says i love Meredith and all but she was wrong for that no cap. like imagine if your sibling was dying, you wouldn’t want to say goodbye to them one last time? Meredith’s pain doesn’t lessen Amelia’s. It wasn’t a competition to see whoever had the right to be more sad.

Im a person who puts wives and husbands before parents, siblings, children, etc. But let my sibling be about to die and her husband, my brother in law, decided to make any moves without telling me. Id punch him dead in the throat.

She also mentioned how she has to hide all her grief for ger children and how Amelia got it out and is still whining. I may not be a 100 perceng correct but i think that was what she was trying to say.

Fuentes kids3 It doesn’t matter who had it worse. They both had the right to grieve as much as they wanted to. And Mer was definitely in the wrong by getting mad at Amelia for a mistake SHE made. There’s no good explanation for why she didn’t let her sister in law know her own brother was dying.

I think they were both kinda in the right. They both needed to grieve and couldn’t do it together in a healthy way because they were in such different places and weren’t that close before everything happened. I agree with both of them and neither of them should have been attacking the other because no one did anything to anyone. Could Meredith have handled it better? Yes. Could Amelia have been a bit more understanding as to why she did what she did? Yes.

xtokayx when people get married they leave their old family behind to start a new one. Mer was Dereks family. They were soul mates amelia was his sister and that’s painful but losing the father of her three children and the love of her life is not the same as losing a brother. It’s a different pain for a different kind of love. Amelia can move on and it will be painful, but Mer and her children will not. Her kids will grow up without a father and Mer will always be wondering what life could have been. (I know this is a show but it’s a great show)

Arizona lost her leg and she had a right to be upset and angry but Callie also had a right to be upset she may not have been on the plane by she lost a lot in that plane crash her best friend & father of her child Mark as well as her friend Lexie, her life was turned upside down and she soldiered on because she knew Arizona needed her support.

Arizona later goes onto explain that when she was little and moved a lot she found comfort in roller skating, her dad always took her to rinks where ever they moved and it made her feel safer and more comfortable there. Hence the reason she uses her heelys before her leg was amputated. It meant a lot to her, and it wasn’t fair of callie to act like Arizona’s feeling of unfairness in the situation was irrational.

maddie D yeah but also..... Arizona literally would have died. She was only thinking of temporary things when she was dying because of her leg and Callie had the right to choose as her partner because Arizona was unfit at the time. If Arizona would have died Callie would’ve lost literally everything except her daughter, and the rational decision was to lose to leg. However, Arizona can be pissed, obviously.

Family doesn’t always mean loyalty but in this case Derek obviously loved all his sisters. Especially Amelia since he was basically a dad to her. And they were in each other’s lives way before Meredith showed up. So yeah, Amelia had every right to freak out.

I agree that Arizona bringing it up over and over was really annoying. But there’s also a part of me that understands why she used it as an excuse to cheat. She had resentment towards Callie for making that decision (even though it was right) and part of me thinks that she just wanted to hurt Callie in the way she was hurt. I’m not justifying her cheating, I honestly stopped liking her after that but just another way to think about it

I lost my leg and yes, I lashed out in frustration. But my frustration was never the loss of my leg. I was frustrated at being kept in a hospital bed for months on end, in the hospital for months on end, constant operations to where I had to be put to sleep any time the docs wanted something done. At one point, I was anaesthetised every 3rd day. So, put to sleep for x-rays, put to sleep to be washed, put to sleep before they moved my hospital bed from one room to another. You have to rely on everyone for everything. Bored out of your mind? Here's a magazine you've already read 80 thousand times. Watch TV. That's it. You're on display, talked over like you're not there, doctors won't tell you anything, but they'll tell your family while you're lying right there! You spend five months like that? Your brain will implode. Trust me. But it isn't the leg, it's everything that comes with losing the leg. You can no longer climb a step ladder to change a burst light bulb if the living room pops late at night and you live alone. It's the painkillers you have to take to help with the nerve damage of so much physical trauma. It's the painkillers you take for the insane amount of bone damage you endured. Then comes the "Addict" looks you get when people find out the only painkiller that works is an Opiate. It proper drives you nuts! It's been 30 years since I lost my leg. I'm 41 this year, so I was 11 when it happened. The frustration never goes away and neither do they phantom pains. Arizona... Some things were spot on, and some things were way off the mark.

Not saying that she's always right!! But for me, Callie as a character is extremely driven, she always fought for people that she loved, so in those terms, she IS a warrior to me!
