I agree with you 100 percent my friend. I've come to love me. I'm the greatest s.o. b. I know. I work hard to be the best person I can be. I'm not perfect by any means and have my faults. But I'm not changing for anyone. The changes i make are for me alone I avoid those I can't get along with and love with my whole heart.

Thank you for this excellent post! When I was a young girl, and even into my 20's, if I found out that one person or more didn't like me, I was crestfallen. My day would be a shambles, and I would start asking a slew of "why" questions about these people. I struggled with my self-esteem for years due to bullying, but it wasn't until I moved out later in life (better late than never), and started cutting off toxic people, that my life started to change for the better. I am self-employed, I have a couple of friends that accept me, and the love of a good man. I no longer ask:"Why does so-and-so not like me? What did I do?" Instead, I ask:"Why do I need this person to like me, and what will it adversely affect in my life if this person doesn't like me?"

Years and years ago an old guy told me only have the people in your life that you would want on a deserted island you all could survive the rest of them are just Deadwood makes a lot of sense and that's how I live my life the few friends I have we could be on a deserted island and everybody would do just fine
