Took me a while to realize why Palu died in that first clip She only reflected Steve's TNT, but not Steve's down smash. She can only reflect one projectile so it was bound for either of em to KO her

As far as I understand it in that final clip, he canceled his free fall with a back air. Some moves, iirc, can prevent you from grabbing ledge. So, as he back air'd, the game didn't make him tech (as he wasn't in free fall) or grab ledge because he was in an animation. Because of the way momentum works in most videogames, hitting a wall does not cancel your momentum fully, so he kept going even after hitting the wall, which is why it carried him to center stage.

Steve main here. So basically with the clip of the day I’m pretty sure that he was riding the anvil down to the blast zone and after you ride the anvil for long enough it lets you do moves while falling on the anvil including tnt and doing it while falling on anvil probably causes the tnt to go under the anvil properly doing enough damage to the tnt to instantly explode it while doing another move with it (probably the up tilt we see him doing) and since the entire tnt hitbox sends up that likely what happened and with the landing looking kinda weird since he could F smash so quick after landing he probably canceled the moment by very slightly sliding on the stage ( kinda like platforms canceling up b)
