As I was on the Arizona Strip, I noticed a large cave opening high on the cliffs. I had my drone with me and decided to fly up to it to see how far it went...
This is just a short video to keep you curious! I didn't want to get too close, because I just wasn't in the mood to accidently hit something and lose my drone. I hope you enjoyed this video anyway!
I am exploring more of this area and have found several other caves worth exploring. I will let you know what I find!

*There's a very interesting video by "Mr Sulo" where he uses fires to crack rock slabs off the underside of the roof, enlarging his cave. Never considered this method.*

Those caves may have been used for 15,000 years off and on. I bet at one time there was scaffolding and ropes all over that cliff.

Maybe in my younger years I would climb it. Now that I'm older and just a tab bit wiser, I'll stick with the view from the drone lol. Although my mind says you can do it. My body just laughs lol. Great video and it would be fun to explore inside that cave.

Any chance there are holes on top of the mesa that lead down? The whole cliff face appears riddled with chambers.

Arizona gets heavy rains during monsoon season. Water likely flows down through internal caves and tunnels and out these caves during rains.

@JCTXFF Yeah, what people don't realize is that when you have a high enough finger-strength to bodyweight ratio, that stuff isn't as scary as exhilarating. I used to do more difficult climbs in order to make base-jumps in the middle of the night

@@TheTrekPlanner I'd use cordless tools and bolt an anchored SRT route up from the cliff base. Doing the climb by Prusik on-rope. So I can catnap swinging in the breeze. Humm? That takes time and lots of hardware so it makes more sense to descend from atop the cliff face. Who taught me to do this ? The National Speleological Society Inc. and their Vertical Section studies. Exploring caves in and outside the USA since 1964. Hello ?

@carmine redd mesh can be applied to sleeping bags, possibly the bush is pruned to make a shot and just looked unnatural from above where the video is recorded .The color appears similar tho. Rappelling down is easy access or egress

gray one inch webbing, a fixed 165 foot static rope hanging down an off width crack. chalk on holds. very mysterious. it might be the remnants from an ancient society of................. Arizona rock climbers working a route and leaving a bail line.

No. That cave was reportedly big enough for a full size sarcophagus and had multiple corridors and rooms with alcoves and statuary.

I wish I could tell you where, but I have seen cliff sides in the Southwest desert with many openings in them just like well-spaced placed caves. I have seen these traveling along the freeway and I just think people ignore them.

At 0:06 the whitish markings on the cliff face indicate traffic or something associated with the cave. Use of fire would have left black streak on cliff face.

Hard to tell but it looks like there’s chalk on the features of the rock in the cave. Could be rock climbers doing some bouldering in there.

I climbed that cliff up to the cave way back in the summer of 1982, and found a a mint condition 1967 Chevrolet Camero there.

This looks like a job for Tom Cruise, I think these structures would be perfect for filming his Space Travel Movie. God knows Mars will look similar to the Oldest Ruins to survive. Great job, buy a motorcycle, get a helicopter pilot license your still young to make great discoveries

To us , its amazing . To a professianal rock climber , its very simple , and easy . With the skill and gear , its a very easy climb , because its a fairly flat vertical surface . Unfortunately , it also means that anything interesting has already been looted .

I believe, the cave was at one time easy to access until a few massive floods washed the sediment away! It may of been only one extremely massive flood!

I wish you had included at least one view of the top of the cliff... Might have been simple to just rappel down to the cave. Leaving a rope might indicate they didn't have the gear they'd have needed for a cleaned exit.

Solution effects often plug continued length with soil and stones. But, inexperienced spelunkers find no reason for any hard labor. So, if explored by the uninformed it could yet have hidden caverns.

Rock climbing difficulty is based on a decimal system. 5.0 is the easiest 5.11 is the hardest The climb up there looked pretty easy. I'd say 5.7

Super climbers have actually put up 5.15 nowadays , but I agree looks like 5.7 , plus there's a rope hanging there for direct aid if needed .

What type of drone would make it easier. I "played" with the ancient ones (DJI P3P 4K, with FPV Goggles) a few years back; yes, I lost signal, it lost it's life, but recovered. The newer ones have a different signal setup.

Climable with experience and the right equipment. Not even that difficult, really, for avid rock climbers. Archaeologists found ancient split-twig figurines in similar caves in Grand Canyon, so Native Americans could access them, too.
