This is a video about my secret underground workshop. Unfortunately rather than a tour it's a video saying goodbye to that place.

I'm jealous that you had a father who invested his time with you. My father locked us out of his workshop. His knowledge died with him.

I've heard of fathers doing this. I know a man who just can't use tools at all. He can't keep a screwdriver in contact with a screw, and with a hammer he hits everything but the nail. He understands why: his father not only never taught him to use tools, but he wouldn't let his son even touch them. Apparently, his tools were worth more to him than his son's competence (and psychological well-being). I suppose the man was abusive in other ways, too.

I know some people who do that urbex stuff, visiting old bunkers just for the thrill of it. A locked, old, bunker with just a simple lock is interesting enough for curious urbexers to do some lock picking. The intention isn’t stealing or anything, just thrillseekers.

This happened to a few of my friends who have old 2. WW bunkers on their properties. They didn't steal anything or break open any doors and even closed the old and very finicky door mechanisms with some dedication to not accidentally expose the inside of the bunker to the forces of nature. None of those friends reported it to the police and over the months slowly forgot about it... until there was a report in the News; about a group of youths who wanted to "investigate", document and map old WWII bunkers before they disappear or get demolished and the, well.. "leader" of the group said in his media statement: "Even though the people may own the land it's on, they don't own the bunkers and have no right to stop the public from being able to enter, explore and experiencing those historic sites first hand." He always took a wireless angle grinder to their "excursions" and was hellbent on taking off every single lock from historic sites whenever he encountered them. Again and again. And again. We figured it was either them or someone with a similar mindset. 🤔

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the owner first instead of just breaking into the bunkers? Sounds dodgy.

me thinks the dude was about to get in to your shop, when someone spooked him. Since the other stalls were empty, he figured this one is too, and away. That would explain why he didn't open the door after going through all that hacking and noise making.

I'm sorry that happened to you. What's going on with our world? In the next work shop setup cameras, motion detectors and/or more to protect your equipment. Heck, I've got 8 cameras and a ring doorbell with a motion detector around my house because I was broken into 3 times and attempted break in 2 more times (after I secured everything around my house). I live in the woods and I believe that's why I was targeted. My insurance agent asked me about security and I explained everything plus I told her I sleep with a loaded weapon (she didn't like that)! LOL. Take care and keep your chin up. Looking forward to your next informative/interesting videos.

well, I will tell you that being made at your maker sanctuary is no fun, I would suggest that since they didn't actually steal anything you over reacted. Maybe you should just wait till something bad happens? Two things you can do besides moving out, is setup a sim security system on the door so if somebody is working the lock it will alert you. Or two, just lock up your expensive stuff behind some metal bars and get a fake security system.

As a retired police officer, I have something to say. Basement floors are common property of the building. It belongs to all residents of the building. Only one of the building's residents wanted to enter this area, which also belonged to him. He unlocked the locked areas because he could not enter. It is obvious that the purpose was not theft. I think you can find out who did it by asking the residents of the building. The resident of the building who opened this lock is not guilty. Because he has the right to use it himself. Obtain written permission from the occupants before using the basement. I think you should go back there again.
@nikodembartnik

It's not like that. As mentioned in the video this place was an old shelter. It's not part of any building where people live it's actually under a small warehouse. I asked all around and also the owner of the place (the only person that could actually need to go there and he also has a key) no one knows anything.

@@nikodembartnik It shouldn't be difficult for you to secure your warehouse technologically. :) Every door requires some time to open. You can arrive on time when the first alert comes to the door.

@ramizyabac Nonsense. If you pay rent to the building owner for a locked space in a basement (or anywhere else), it's yours to lock up and keep secure.
@ramizyabac3256
@ramizyabac3256 8 ай бұрын
@@tcarney57 Basements, shelters and parking lots are generally common areas. This is the case even though there are different practices in many countries. Common area ownership is where building owners use it anonymously. It may be charged based on building management decisions. The income is shared with the building owners. Common areas cannot be sold. :) Even if the whole building is yours, your tenants have the right to the common area. The common area is included in the zoning plan of the building :) . I wasn't just a cop. I engineered and manufactured my own building. From rough construction to furniture.

That’s terrible Niko! I don’t know if social media is to blame but there are so many videos these days of people exploring „abandoned/forgotten“ bunkers etc that people just feel entitled to break in to places. Might be worth doing some searches in a few weeks to see if someone uploads themselves breaking in 🫠
