This song brings me much peace, incredibly beautiful but also sad when I think about it, I think Michael could relate to the song, I remember one time he said he felt so incredibly lonely he used to wander the streets at night just looking for someone to talk to, even at the peak of his popularity during the Thriller days, but he had become so famous to the point that he felt so isolated by his celebrity status, he used to ask people "will you be my friend?" And then they would scream his name and he would be like "I just want a friend to talk to", there were occasions where someone would say "yes I'll be your friend" but he would always think "will they really be my friend for me?", I believe I remember someone who knew him when he was still living at his family home I think one time he asked if he felt lonely being so famous, I think he revealed "even at home, I'm lonely, I sit on my bed and cry, it's so hard to make friends" it's soo heartbreaking 😭😭 seems like loneliness was a very perssistent feeling despite all of his accomplishments, which he expressed many times in his songs as well, he was a prisoner of his immense fame, I wouldn't want that, I would love to be his friend, maybe he would like an ET to be his friend and find him, he would be able to truly understand him 😢

“Someone In The Dark” was written for E.T the movie and MJ narrated the audio storybook which he did this was the beginning song of the storybook there is a closing version of this song as well it’s so heartwarming he also won a Grammy Award in 1984 for his narration and said out of the 8 Grammys he won that night he was most proud of that one Long Live The King Of Music Forever!
