Even though Tampax made commercials, they had a predominantly female cast, which made sense but also is how things have been recently. To have a cis male comfortably talking about it openly and spreading the information on a huge platform like his only helped boost the commercials. he left in the educational bits and made occasional statements about how you don't need to be embarrassed about your periods. Overal, this was honestly a great video.

I think people like you forget he lives in a different society. I’ve never heard about the “tampon can make you lose your virginity”, neither do we have a stigma against sanitary products. I grew up with tampons and pads offered freely in public bathrooms. So I think people need to realize that we don’t all live the exact same lives.

115% could have been worded better but what was meant by that statement is that when a bio woman reaches sexual maturity having regular menstrual cycles is an indicator that they are now able to become pregnant. So, yes if our mothers did not have their period we would not exist. Women go through an entire 28 day cycle (approx.) That includes more than just the expulsion of an unused egg (period) ovulation is a part of that cycle and during that time a woman is most likely to become pregnant. Biologically the first period is the start of this cycle which will end once the woman reaches menopause. Basically biologically we can not reproduce without periods... The constant fluctuation of hormones that allow the body to prepare for reproduction and the eventual expulsion of that egg so that process can begin again. Sadly, that was lost through Amy's flat jokes.

I'm a woman and I saw very little wrong with the video in terms of the source material- clearly he is not a woman, so he can't deliver the same perspective, and he is not an educational channel to begin with. He left in educational parts of the ads, but was overall more focused on Amy's stale performances. He was able to speak openly about period products without shying away from general terms and sensitive topics, which is what most women should be able to do anyways, because it's nothing to be ashamed of. I don't understand people's expectancy for him to do intensive research or somehow completely understand what women go through without spreading ANY slight misinformation when he is in fact (1) not a woman and (2) not a seriously-researched channel. He handled it well enough for the type of content that he makes. Could he have handled it better? Definitely, yes. But the focus was largely on Amy Schumer, it's a video about her terrible comedy, not about women's menstrual problems. So yeah, you could say I didn't give a fuck.

I admit that I'm somewhat awkward about menstruation, BUT no more than I am about other bodily functions. Talking about my period feels about the same as talking about my bowel movements - a lil icky and generally something I wouldn't shout from the rooftop, but at the same time it's obviously not a huge deal because it's perfectly normal.

As someone who only uses pads, one of my greatest fear ever since I was 12 years old has been getting a surprise period and needing to ask someone for a feminine hygiene product and they only have tampons. LUCKILY I've been good at always keeping a stash in my bag, and worst case scenario I'll just use a bunch of toilet paper - who hasn't used that trick at least once in their life?
