Camera is almost always blurry. I like this. I've been using the RCBS 3-way trimmers. Both with the hand wheel and removal of it and mounting a drill. It heats really old holding the case after a while. I've had carpal tunnel release surgery in both wrists. This thing no matter how often I may need to replace Bart's is much easier and accurate. There are tips and tricks to get a feel for making the trim more accurate and consistent. I also have the RCBS Case prep station. This trimmer from Lee is a great tool for any reloader to have in their box of tricks.

Great review! I'm a fan of the quick trim and I can't wait to get one of these. I have a heavy, low-speed corded drill with a momentary foot switch. Hopefully, if my drill weighs enough, and I make a rig to keep it from spinning, I can use my hands to run the press and feed the brass. There's no end to the lengths of my laziness.

you are going to run through a lot of chamfer blades because of the number of turns you do and the presures you are applying. I just went down this road with Lee. Try using a battery powered screw driver and lighten up on the presures and number of turns. IMHO

Yes they go in the case and you dump them out after trimming each case. Sometimes the shavings will build up in the die so I blow it out every 20 to 30 cases.

Why do you not use the spacer please

After several 1000 cases this is nice.

I purchased the Lee deluxe power quick trim kit after reading and watching videos on how quick and accurate to 0.001 of an inch this was. I was intending on trimming 9 mm cases and if I liked it was going to purchase a set for all the calibers I reload. The specs in my reloading manual states the max case length is 0.0754" and a trim to length of 0.744" with 10 adjustments of 0.001". the very smallest length this will cut is to 0.0751". and the adjustment dial does not stay put where you set this. I called Lee and spoke with a technitian and he told me I was exspecting far to much accuracy from the tool. I quess I was exspecting to trim the case to the starting trim length for the specified calber. The technician stated that it will trim it somewhere within 0.754" and 0.744" and thats good enough. I reload for consistancy and accuracy not close enough or good enough to shoot. If I am gooing to take the time and effort to trim the cases i want them all the same not somewhere in a range. So the 10 increments of 0.001" dial is to get it whithin a range of 0.754" and 0.751" not where you want it. I wanted to return it and was told to return it to the dealer who I purchased it from who does not take returns.this is not a precision instrument. Not worth having in my opinion.

Make sure lube is removed from cases otherwise die will not grip cases and they will spin and cutter will not cut. If you let them spin the plastic inside the die will wear and no longer grip cases. Also remove primer arm from ram and fill the slot with tissue paper, otherwise shavings will travel into press body and eventually make it hard to raise and lower ram.

Can you adjust the die to get exact measurements between all cases ran through the die?

Where do all the brass cuttings go? Do they fall in the case?

The motive is to trim all cases within the specs. consistently. A thin lube is a good aid and simply use a vacuum to clean up the shavings. Good review.... For example with the 45/70 case when using the Hornady FTX bullets you need to shorten the case below spec. I guess the die won't let you make those alterations. Havn't tried it yet but was wondering.

Does anyone get consistent trim lengths with these things? Mine gives me crazy variations in case length no matter how careful I am.

It might be advisable to use an electric screwdriver instead if a drill. Unless you are able to set up a system above that where the drill is coming straight down all the time, you are putting allot of pressure on the sides if the cutter and will probably see more wear from that. i think it would shorten the life ofnthe cutters and possible start cutting at angles.

You would probably get a more repeatable cut if you weren't using a breech lock press. there seems to be quite a bit of play in the quick change bushing.

I just got mine and have about 2000+ LC cases to do, a real time saver for the first 30 then it quits chamfering the outside, I checked it and the blades are gummed up with brass shavings. OK 10 minutes disassembly then cleaning, reassembly and off to work again.... same thing again, not much of a time saver. When it works it works when it don't it DON"T. If you only do a box of 20 it is the one for you.

Nice vid! I use a 2 - speed screwdriver (600rpm) . It's vertical inline design distributes the weight and eliminates the side torque created by the offset weight of a drill. I also have a RCBS RS5 press that will eliminate the play in the Lee speed socket. Okay, where did you get your plastic containers?

Seems like you're giving each case way too many rotates with the trimmer.

Good video, but it made me cringe to see you put the tool in the vise with those teeth on the jaws. You should put a piece of leather or rubber around the tools to protect it from the teeth.

just out of curiosity - what is the deal with the rubber gloves...no reflection on you, but in my opinion, a little lead (not excessive levels )is OK for the immune system. Nowadays everyone is worried about freakin' peanut allergies as if a PB&J was radioactive...Again, not critiquing you for wearing gloves and/or your video.
