I like the idea of making as many of the things we're buying from the center of the grocery stores. Like candies/marshmallows, cookies and crackers. And any other snack like foods that are so high in bad fats. Home made everything is probably more healthy. People just seemed to be healthier before fast food chains and big box stores. Before pre-packaged convenience foods. Which is just about everything in a grocery store.

My daughters love homemade gummie bears. I ended up buying large gummy bear molds off Amazon. They're about triple the size of the little gummy bears. My favorite way to make them is also using fruit puree. Usually do half juice, half puree with a touch of honey to sweeten.

I make elderberry gummies and I use raw honey to sweeten it and I just warm up the elderberry juice quite warm and then as it cool stir in the honey so I don't lose the nutritional value of the raw honey and then the gelatin and for them into those molds. My understanding is that three of those is a serving size for a child I don't know what the serving size would be for an adult you probably wouldn't want larger gummy bears. I usually take a handful of them like maybe five or six and suck on him and let them dissolve in my mouth otherwise I take a shot of elderberry juice daily when I remember it. very beneficial

Even though we are only watching you for the most part, I never feel like you are the only one working hard. You are a hardworking strong woman that gets stuff done. I totally agree that making from scratch often takes less time than going to the store and back. I can't wait to try the marshmallow for my granddaughter. QUESTION. I am interested in your seed course. I don't have a large cash flow. I'm wondering if purchasing a lot of equipment is part of the course?

I have stumbled onto your channel & am SO impressed with all that you accomplish in your day! I would like to make a suggestion, if you don’t mind. Buy yourself SEVERAL more sets of measuring cups & spoons & leave one in each of your freq used containers. I keep a 1 cup in my flour & a 1/2 cup in my sugar. I keep a teaspoon in several other containers. If you had extras at your baking counter as well, it would cut down on your steps back & forth, plus you don’t have to wash & dry in between. I just leave them in the containers of dry ingredients all the time. I only had 1 child so I am blown away by your accomplishments. Stay healthy & thanks for sharing your busy life!! 🩷

I just finished making marshmallows and hot chocolate bombs! (Literally just finished in the kitchen and saw your notification), now that I’ve had homemade marshmallows I’ll never eat store bought again, they’re so good! Oh my goodness that's awful. Why would they make it so sharp. I think that's an oversight on their part when they developed this product. It's not meant for cutting so it shouldn't have to be that sharp.

I will have to try the marshmallow recipe!! I find that cooking from scratch has become a bigger part of my life since semi-retiring...and whipping up a few pumpkin sage biscuits to have with turkey stew doesn't frighten me like it used to (worried about failure I guess) As for salad dressings, we haven't bought prepared dressings in years. Even hubby has become quite good at mixing up a dressing in minutes and they are so versatile and easy! Thank you for all your inspiration, Chelsea - I just love this community!

I am loving the brightness the new cabinet colors bring to your kitchen background 😊. I use a lot of mayonnaise because our favorite slaw dressing (Marzetti) clone recipe is mayo based. I make a LOT of it to use in cabbage slaw, potato salad and pasta salad, deviled 🥚, etc. I prefer to use store mayo because it has a much longer shelf life, and I can make bigger batches to store in my fridge. Also, bought mayo is safer to leave out at room temp😊

A tip for making candy(boiling sugar syrup) is to put a lid on the pot until all the sugar crystals dissolve. The steam washes all the crystals down into the syrup instead of them sticking to the sides and causing the syrup to be grainy.

I'm so glad to see that you finally have powdered yourself! LOL If I made those marshmallows, my whole front would be dusted with icing sugar! I make my own salad dressings and spice/herb mixes and since you grow so many in your garden already, it would be so easy to make most of them. I find the exception being anything with some warmer spices since I haven't grown cumin, paprika peppers or chilis for powder.

I wonder if you shop the grocery stores now and walk away from items knowing you can make them at home for cheaper? It’s a constant battle (in a good way) I have at the store. I have to also weigh in my time with a young family, so if I can get something that has very few ingredients and is relatively inexpensive vs my time I will still pick up those small items. Our grocery bills when I go are much more because I buy in bulk, but my items last so much longer in our pantry. Very nice video and I am sure my 4 year old would love the gummies!
