If I were Arteta I wouldnt play Zin at all, because he just brings fragility! Same with Gabby Jesus, who distracts focus in attack with his constant complaining to officials and "gamesmanship"... My question with new players always is will they work well with the manager, are they adaptable enough to play another manager's style. I do think Aston Villa will be a force to reckon with next season. They played very well against us on Sunday and I for one do not begrudge them their win. But today is about today. Rice is another issue, with zinchenko on pitch, rice should focus more on the defence than attack. We have sacrificed Rice's defensive qualities (which are the best) for his attack (which is the worst) i dont get it.

My opinion, but I don't think Zinchenko should be starting in high-pressure games, where the opposition have wingers that can really get at Zinchenko. We know he is weaker defensively than Kiwior, Tomiyasu and Timber (from what we saw at the start of the season). Kai Havertz just doesn't work in midfield. He doesn't do too bad, but he affects the control and balance when he starts as a left 8. Finally, Trossard doesn't really work on the LW againest decent to top tier opponents. He has everything apart from the pace to cause problems. Everything is always easier to say in hindsight, but I just hope Arteta learns from this loss and we get back to winning ways againest Bayern. I also hope we have another strong summer transfer window of incoming and outgoings. We need to sell off players who aren't at the required level we need now. Looking at Nelson, Nketiah, Ramsdale (only because you can't have two 1st choice GKs), Taveres, Patino, Lokonga and possibly Zinchenko if we have grown past him.

If Timber hadn’t been injured the first game of the season zinchenko would have been warming the bench. Arteta knows the team has evolved past zinchenko that’s why he bought timber to replace him. If we could get Alexander Isak for next season he would be a huge improvement.

Kai is not effective in the midfield, the performance of our midfield improves dramatically without him in the midfield three, thus reducing the pressure on our defense. However, our winning rate goes up when he plays the number 9 role. so it is better for Arteta to always play him as the number 9.

I can't believe that Jesus pace has fallen off quite a fair bit after his injury. Even Trossard is pacier than him. Zinchenko is not prudent and defensive enough as a left-back. That's why we miss out the league least season, and zinchenko is definitely one of the contributing reasons.
