The way Manly commentates this game makes the playthrough really feel like it’s from the perspective of a tactical exorcist trying to figure out how the ghost works, and I’m all for it.

I gotta praise the chest placement in this game. The way they face gives just enough of a view to see if it's safe to leave. Really helps balance the game with the semi aggressive ai.

Why is it that with most Manly Horror LPs I'm like "Haha that's nice, that's probably intended to be scary" or "That might've spooked me if I tried to play the game on my own haha" but with this Super Mario 64 horror game where you can see the individual polygons on the items and chests I'm legitimately thrilled at times just from watching?

Evil Peach saying "Mario" after trying to kill you is never gonna' leave me now.

A cool background is that Big Boo's haunt made itself into Peach's castle making Peach a possible anchor for the ghost. Consequently, it corrupted Peach as she now is wreaking havoc across her castle. Mario was dispatched to quell it and find a possible way to revert Peach back while avoiding her.

I love how her design isn't even that out of place for an N64 game. Dead Hand from Ocarina of Time was honestly much scarier, so I could see that design being in an N64 game

I'm really amazed as to how Manly can control himself to not scream or get startled when peach would suddenly show up lol.

See kids? This is why we don't consume mushrooms. You might end up floating, or get red eyes or murderous urges. Remember to just say no!

I like to believe that every time the Not Princess Peach gets Mario, that's the actual canon ending and the set up for Luigi to come in and find his missing brother while taking care of ghosts.

Didn't think he'd take the time out to play this. I'm happy to see he has. Because of course a horror game isn't a horror game if manlyBadAzz doesn't play it.

Looking at positives, Mario doesn't have to worry about saving this princess from Bowser

I love how the lantern Mario holds is made out of Super Mario 64 textures (and in fact might even be an asset in the game itself). It could have easily been some generic flashlight but the dev went the extra mile instead.

i never thought of peach being the antagonist in a horror sm64 game - i'm so fascinated by this concept! it's a refreshing twist.

You could really extend this story by showing several characters that went to visit Peach's Castle and never came back, leading up to Mario himself going. Mario and Luigi/Toad go, and one of them gets got early on to show something is wrong with Peach. And you have to go around collecting the souls of everyone to save them while avoiding Peach, lest you join them.

Of course there's something wrong with her She doesn't need Mario she needs some damn braces.

I know what I'm about to say may sound odd but to me you're like the KZfaq gamer equivalency to Bob Ross. I can't help but feel calm and relaxed when I hear your voice and watch your playthroughs. Maybe it's just your funny yet laid back personality that I enjoy. Thanks for that, it's much appreciated.

The best part about this game aside from being a Slender like Mario Game, we also get to hear Manlys awesome Mario impression 😂👍

I like the concept. Not to mention, the origin of Peach's transformation could be explained using some slightly home-brewed lore. Do you all remember the Boo Shroom from the Mario Galaxy games? Now imagine what a poison variant of that could do to a person... 🍄👻💀

The title is a very clever twist on the classic Mario phrase

The white ghostly peach is actually pretty scary ngl. Just seeing her meandering throughout the accurate m64 castle. It's only when you see her rage face she's actually not so scary.

I love how the title of this game, "Another Princess Is In Our Castle" is a play on "Our Princess is in another castle.

I love how this is made and how spooky it is and then I just look over and see Mario's delightful little marshmallow hand

For further acts, killer toads can be scary in numerous amounts, and making a monsteous bowser, with limbs twisting wrong, bashing through walls can be quite oof.

There is something so strange about seeing a place that holds such nostalgic significance to me being twisted into a creepy nightmare setting for an indie horror game.

Here’s something they can do for Act 2 There’s a bunch of foot high water in the bottom floor of the castle so they could do the Mario equivalent of the Amnesia “Water Monster”. Where the only safe places are where there’s no water.

I played this and honestly I cannot wait for the full game. I'm curious to what the story is. How Peach died, and if she was murdered, who killed her.

My favorite thing in playing horror games is that “oh no” from seeing game mechanics before they come into play, like hiding in chests in this game, cuz atm it does nothing and is clearly even gonna be helpful, but it means you’re gonna have to hide from something, and there’s just something really. something about that.

This is genuinely creepy, I remember the first time watching Manly play this and seeing g him evade peach in the garden, idk why but his gave me chills. This is an excellently done game and AI!

Not being a fan of Mario 64, I liked this way more than I thought I would. The normal way she would say "Mario?" after not finding you was the scariest part for me.

There's a really good romhack from Simpleflips creepypasta competition called "Please come to the castle". Really nice atmosphere to it, I'd reccomend a looksie

The small "Mario" she says, makes me wonder how well an audio trick horror game would go. Like you have to find your friends, but something is mimicking them.

My Head cannon would like to think that this takes place after Mario has turned really old, hence why he is not as athletic as he was and has a stamina bar. The Peach apparition is cause bowser kidnapped her and accidently killed her, but Mario couldn't save her, so now she is behind Mario as a ghost cause of her rage, and Mario probably just went back to the castle to look at how the castle is like nowadays after all the years passed.

So this game was too silly to be scary for me. It's mostly the art style, now, for a comedy game, this was great. I like how they utilized every aspect of the castle, and turned it into a completely different game.

Ooh, a Mario 64 horror game. Haven't seen one like that since the Horror Romhack Jam. Perfect time to ask this, Manly, have you ever thought about playing Mario:The Music Box? It's an old RPG Maker horror game that is loaded with different endings and deaths. Very loosely tied to Mario.

Manly, you should try out Mario and The Music Box if you're interested more Mario and RPG Maker horror. And the idea of an evil or possessed Peach reminds me a little of The Coronation Day.

Mushroom Kingdom, but you cant jump; really makes the place a death trap if a monster is hunting you. No wonder Peach gets Bowser-napped so often.

I absolutely love the ghost princess idle patrol model. It's an alternate world where Mario didn't rescue Peach and Bowser took the kingdom. Those statues are full of nostalgia for people that played it back in the day. Very cool demo, but I kind of wish the sudden end threw Manly a bone/did something silly. Cool concept tho~

We just need Luigi to take care of this. I think he could do it

Constantly getting herself into trouble & making someone risk their life to save her over & over, ad nauseam- with only a kiss as a reward? Can u imagine the cost of Mario’s life insurance by the 3rd game? All his coins couldn’t make up for that. Peach was always a monster if u ask me 😂

having played this game, its neat that its being updated. the hovering-type behavior does add to the tension, and the earlier version had the box in the bob-omb room blind to the door, so im glad that was changed. on another note, using the "mario?" voice lines is also a nice touch that's a recent addition :>

Oh man, this is some good DLC. Seems like Nintendo never forgets its games since they've updated a decades old classic! I bet all their shops are still up, and they're working on updating games that's already out! I have the utmost confidence that they'll never make people buy the same thing over and over again to capitalize on nostalgia, that wouldn't be the wholesome company we know and love. :3

I appreciate using 64 as the base game but it kind of calls into question why Mario would have such a hard time escaping a threat when one of his key skills is being super athletic. In 64 alone he can do all those crazy flips and wall jumps and such.

For someone that is wanting to be a game dev, it is nice to see defrent AIs in games and that you were talking about them as well.

This is hilarious and tense at the same time, I love it!

I think the best way this game could be expanded into a full release is to break it up into three levels, each with a different enemy with their own mechanics. Just to throw some ideas around, level one is just the demo. Peach is a simple, slow-moving enemy that begins chasing you when she sees you. Level 2 would start once you reach the basement. Peach stays on the main floor and never follows you down there, however, the Piano, or some other creepy enemy, would patrol the oddly labyrinthian basement, instead. They could be much faster, and even impossible to escape once they see you, but as they move about, they constantly make loud crashing piano noises, meaning you can generally tell where they are at all times, and simply need to avoid them at all costs. Level three would be the upstairs, and the enemy could be some demonic King Boo or something. Fast, stealthy, can typically tell where you are at all times, and never really makes noise. Like all boos, though, staring at them stops them dead in their tracks. Basically, they'd be like SCP-173, just always trying to sneak up on you. Once you make it past the endless staircase and up to the top (presumably the end goal of the game), you would have to make a stealthy beeline for the exit as all three spawn at once, each more aggressive than in their first encounter.
