This happened to my basement door. It was slightly ajar but still locked. If the two sensors are disturbed the alarm will sound. Scary moment but I'm glad it's working.

Im Am Glad That Vivint Sensors Are Very Sensitive Because, If They Where Not So Sensitive Then It A Higher Chance For Somone To Break In. I Would Rather Be Woken Up By This Instead, Be Woken Up Bye A Intruder.

Ok that’s not what my alarm says I have one of those in my house and it takes like 30 seconds for the actual alarm to going off cause it’ll say “lock down” cause that’s what happened when I opened my door when i opened it

I have Telus right now in another house, and it has a 20-second timer before the alarm goes off. With vivint, it goes off first, but you have 30 seconds to disarm before their customer service calls. Comparing both, I personally prefer Vivint, though they don't have it here in Canada anymore.

Viviny actually has an option to have a delay or not when a door was triggered. If it is your main door, back door, or any door leads outdoor, it is advisable to have a “delay” for your own convenience. Situations are for the users to not be irritated by the sounds everytime you’re entering or exiting your house before arming or disarming or system. And the second option that “doesn’t have any delay” or allows the alarm to went off immediately are for your internal doors. Doors that you do not need to use everytime you arm or disarm your system.

This happened to me but i had a different alarm system, apparently, my front Sliding door randomly moves not because of a ghost, but because it randomly gets stuck, so while we were away, it moved by its self and the alarm went off, I checked the cameras and there was nothing there, i used a "Kangaroo Security Alarm System"

Looks like you have a large house. I would call vivint to have them install a repeater to give your sensors better signal. It's free.

Is it a reed switch if so they are sensitive due to how slightly a door needs to be open to trigger the reed switch a reed switch is a play that is locked with another that is pulled to a magnet which is on the boarder of the door or window when it losses pull from the magnet it cinatcts the play completes the circuit and alarm goes off

This happened to me last night originally a mirror fell in our bathroom triggered our glass break sensor so the alarm was screaming so then we got that all figured out after the monitoring center called us so we got everything rearmed after checking around the house we have not closed our back door tight enough 10 minutes later wind blew in that back door open and the alarm was sounding again so scary I could not go back to sleep for the rest of that night. It was very annoying Once we got all that figured out I could not go back to sleep. Vivint is a great system at least we know it works.

Good to hear everything is ok. Yes you’re right, the system works and we have peace of mind. I just didn’t like the sound of the alarm, it scares me most of the time. 😅😂

This could be your door was closed and locked but not closed properly. Wind could have blown it. At least you know it’s working

The whole system is. I would NEVER trust Vivint after what they tried with me. (Long story) but I ended up winning in the end. Had nothing but problems with them such as this starting day one. Love my Ring. No issues.

Scary… lol. The sliding door has another lock on top which i double checked before going to bed. Still can’t figure out until now what triggered the alarm. 🤣

That’s what i thought as well, but we checked again in the morning and it was fine. I even talked to the customer service and they said the same thing. Anyways, we are thankful that nothing serious happened that time. 😊

The problem could be that the sensor wasn't screwed properly and came out of position triggering the alarm. Idk😊

My best bet would be sensor became unaligned or tape gave away or tamper switch got triggered my keypad for my VIVINT system sent out 15 tamper alerts at 4.30 am that was so awesome to wake up to

I checked everything in the morning but didn’t find anything so I just assumed it was the battery. But since that happened. I haven’t replaced it and it’s still working up to this day. 😅😄

can't shoot a burglar if you're in rem sleep and don't hear them. however with an alarm like such you may be able to jump up and catch them with the ol' shotgun.
