This is so true elders have a lack of respect for young people they think just because they’re old they can do whatever. My grandma literally used to shame my cousin and called him fat. Now he lost a lot of weight and she said “good job lose 10kg more and you’ll be perfect like Shah Rukh Khan”. And my mum doesn’t want me to talk back cause it’s rude to disrespect elder but they should at least have respect for us as well. My grandma doesn’t stop talking about how I do more work for her like I’m busy studying. When I having dinner she calls me and I tell her I’m coming then she keeps calling me then my parents yell at me so I just stop eating to go and to help her. I have no problem with helping her but she should at least be grateful all she does it call me “kam chor”. She has no respect for anyone
@PrinCess_lale13 күн бұрын
Well my grandparents calls me too. But when they get to know I'm having dinner or studying they won't bother me. They don't want to bother anyone to do things for them and be dependent but the old age and helplessness make them to call us all the time. My grandpa can't see properly even his meals, needs help of someone to get up and go to toilet. When we reach that age I hope not to go through such stage 🥲. It really hurts to watch
@JenniferAbraham-qd5nw13 күн бұрын
@@PrinCess_lale yes you are right but they shouldn’t use it to take advantage. My grandma is fine but she chooses not to work herself and she says very hurtful things to my dad, auntie and uncle who are her children. She keeps saying that they’re letting her die and not caring for her when all they do is care she just doesn’t understand how much we all care she keeps on making issues. I love my grandma but she needs to at least not be so hard on her own kids I mean I don’t like to see my dad or auntie and uncle upset after what she tells them. She doesn’t want to work my dad kept telling her for years that come on let’s go out on a walk but she just stays inside and lies down. I am not being rude to her but she needs to at least try to do something she doesn’t thankfully have any issues with her body.

@@JenniferAbraham-qd5nw well that is some sad reality. I'm glad my grandparents are not that way. I think she used to look after her parents and grandparents and in laws at some point and they were traumatizing for her she is just passing on that generational trauma. At the end we still love them. Maybe she's just scared of abandonment. Body shaming is not a big deal for the old. They thinks it's completely fine and and for our good. I always get skinny shamed by them each time I visit. I'm 165 CM and 53 kg perfect weight for my height. Still they say I'm too skinny and I should put on some weight to get good husband 🥴. I'm 21 I don't even plan to get married. From east to West North to south body shaming in India by elders is very normalized. It runs in their blood.

Well I was going to Mumbai on train with my family, my grandfather was also with me he was 78. I found myself in the exact same situation as Alia , an elderly uncle refused to give my seat to me because he wants to sit by the window side because he has breathing problem. He also told me that I should respect him as he is older than me, he's probably like in his 50s. So you guessed it. I brought my grandfather with me and said he has the same problem as you and as you can tell he's even older naturally you should give up your seat to my grandfather. The look on his face was so satisfying can't get enough 😂😂😂😂
@SidN04057 ай бұрын
Actually without bringing your grandfather in picture you can still ask him to give your seat back or give additional amount for that seat. Usually window seats are more costly compared to other seats. If he is having problem he should book window seat only before. Or in worst case if he is suddenly planning to take someone's window seat he should pay them the extra amount of that ticket... but forcefully asking someone to exchange seats just because the person is young is very wrong

I recently traveled to Delhi from Nagpur in an AC coach with my mom. I had one confirmed ticket and another one that was not. The train had no vacant seats. The confirmed seat was an upper berth. My mom is a patient of arthritis and frozen shoulder, so she could not climb to the seat. The traveler on the lower berth had been watching us from the time we had boarded the train. It was not more than two minutes before he came to me and said, "Take my seat, Auntie ji." He shifted to our seat, and he wasn't alone; he was with his family. He did not care about his comfort. After spending some time with him, I realized that he is from a defense background. I asked him, "What do you do for a living?" He replied, "I am a CISF officer." 🇮🇳

So true. Some (SOME) elderly people take wrong advantage of respect by others. I have experienced.
@suniljain81499 ай бұрын
Very true , I gave my berth to an elderly lady in the month of December in the year 1982 and I slept on the floor of the train. It is very cold on the floor which I realised late in the night and I cought fever because of that cold floor and that lady got down after 36 hours of journey without even looking back at me. I gave my reserved berth out of respect as her husband requested at departing station to take care of her. 😮

Ppl always blaming Indian culture for evrything 🙄...."Indian culture" definetely says respect elders...but it never said " BADE LOG KABHI GALAT NAHI HO SAKTE" u can check our history books...it is said listen to elders advice and suggestions even if they are wrong...and do what u feel right... If u don't like any order or anything they said differ with them and tell them u don't like it politely... Our history and values are misinterpreted and ppl happily believe whatever ppl say without even caring if that was really our Indian culture... And also i would like to tell that i am not saying i am against the video ..ofc it's truly good msg....just clarifying myself bcz from my above text u may think i am against this video and i am from "Indian culture"
