Today is the hottest day of the year here in Humboldt County in Northern California. But “hot” is a relative term because here on the coast, the high is forecast to only be 74°F. Mid 70’s are ideal temperatures for a day at the beach, in my opinion. So today we are heading to Moonstone Beach. Moonstone is a small beach just south of Trinidad.
Today was filled with great views, great coffee and food too. After enjoying a simple sandwich for lunch, I had homemade pizza for dinner. Even without an oven, I have found an easy way to make pizza here in my van on my stove. The pizza turned out great and was one of the best so far.

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.

I remember hearing one of the Hollywierdos maybe Nick Cage talking about living your life as if were an art form. Sounds goofy for sure but I think the stripped down lifestyle that appreciates the little things and is grateful for the simple perfection of just being alive on planet Earth is a beautiful way to live. Beautiful spot Scott! Btw, what i like to do if my bread is dry and hard, i dont throw it away... i take an egg, little bit of milk, mix it. then i take the bread and soak it in the egg-milk-mix. then, put some butter in a pan and roast the bread...put some maple sirup over it...tastes YUMMI and i dont have to waste "dry bread", i dont like to throw away food at all. think you call it "french toast" in the US. works really fine with "old, hard bread". Keep it up Scott, greetings from europe

The 51 minutes went by so fast! This is one of my favorites. I love that you love Northern California. I never tire of it. I hope you can live your dream and stay in Northern California as much as possible. If you do go down south, Point Reyes National Seashore, Drakes Beach, Tomales Bay area is gorgeous. Hello Scott, Very enjoyable video. You make a lovely hand made pizza. And then of course there is that awesome coffee. Purely perfection. Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best as are an evening at the seashore. Life is made up of expierences and how we interpret them. We need to focus on what is kind and considerate. We should embrace the essence of forgiving and compassion. Keep a spirit of gratitude delight and fascination for the lifescape afforded and beauty that is all around to be absorbed and committed to memory. In that way you can revisit this place and the Exquisite meal you prepared any time. An hour well invested.

Oh, and Humboldt is a melting pit of artists! It's so fun! I just painted a Bigfoot myself with a mountain in the background and lavender flowers in the foreground. I'm hoping it will sell in the place it's slated for. Also, yes. People love their dogs around here. I always check the temperature of the pavement or sand or river rocks on hot days. Thankfully he is a small dog and I can carry him if I have to. I'm so glad you like our little corner of the world and if you get to stay a while, my husband and I will have to connect with you some time and we'll take you out for coffee or go for a walk, or both! If you would be up for something like that. Gorgeous sunset!

The funny thing was that I had two slices of pizza for lunch and a sandwich for dinner today. I literally was making and eating my sandwich while watching you make and eat your pizza. Been home for 10 days from trip out to NorCal coast. One nite ft Bragg , 12 nites Shelter Cove. Temps while we were there mid 60’s…it is roasting hot here in NE Ga. Was on the lookout for you while we were out there! We love Humboldt. Took a field trip up 101 to Humboldt SP to walk under some giants. Returned back to S Cove via Mattole Rd, Wilder Ridge, Ettersburg Rd. Total mileage for trip 101 miles. Was a 5+ hr long drive. Lots of agriculture going on up in those hills! The Moonstone Grill near where you were is really good. Their crab cakes are divine.

Love that vista point! And I know what you mean about the road north of Houda Point. Gets really sketchy. Avoid Crescent City for a bit. The whole county’s power's been out for days because of the wildfire inland. It’s coming back online but from generators they brought in. The transmission lines are probably out and need to be repaired when the fire is done raging.

I have an RV in Trinidad and walked the Hammond trail withy dogs last week. Got home and found 20 ticks one them and me. 😮. Glad you found Moonstone beach, it is one of my favorites. Go to College Cove in Trinidad. There are several more isolated and beautiful beaches you can hike down to

That was beautiful sound to go out on! I wasn't sure I'd appreciate a vlog of this length - but I felt engaged all along the trip. Beautiful locations, perfect weather day. I occasionally make an abomination - a cross between a pizza and a quesadilla on a tortilla :) .... cooking with what one has on hand will do that.
