Because I love you and I want the best for you and your safety. If you wanna have a sleepover with all of your friends, they are more than welcome to come here. That’s how my mom handled it. My dad was a cop when I was growing up and he did child crimes. I don’t know how he manage to do that at work every day and then come home. And be an amazing dad.

You're my slave' That is a silly logic because you can say the same things in every situation and they will equally make zero sense. You can beat your kids bloody and say it's because i love you. That is not a good reason. You're teaching them to accept abuse as long as someone who controls them says its out of love.

@@AnHeC comparing not letting your kid go to an unknown family's house for a sleepover to abuse is insane. Especially considering that most sexual abuse happens at the hands of family and friends. A LOT of parents don't allow sleepovers these days for very good reasons

@@AnHeC my mom wasn’t controlling me. She was keeping me safe from potentially being raped kidnapped murdered possibly all three. And you can sit there and say that things like that don’t happen except that my dad saw that things like that happened every day when he went to work. He had to interview kids that have had the worst things done to them by people that their families, and that they thought they could trust. I am sorry nobody cared enough to look out for you that way

Not for everyone but if my kid wants a sleepover then it's at the house because my anxiety cannot. I'll let them play dnd or have board games. Limited guest list because I don't think I have a big enough pot to cook enough food past a certain amount of people. (Also to be aware of allergies and special needs)
