The 70s music will put you on another planet that no one will understand unless you have a love of the 70s music. You don't need drugs or alcohol to appreciate the best music ever. God....take me back to the 70s and leave me there....I'll be just fine.

This was my late wifes and I first dance song at our wedding in 1999. It's been 13 years since I lost her. So fitting for us.

And I 💯💯💯💯 agree that today's music doesn't hold a candle to 70s,80s and 90s music.

I played..Stand tall, Sacrifice, Hotel california ,Nights in white satin ,The house of rising sun , a whiter shade of pale, Power of love ,self control, and sometimes when we touch, memories came flashing back from England ,Holland , Zambia , Zimbabwe and finally back home in Beautful 🇧🇧 what a wonderful birthday I had yesterday ❤❤

isn't it funny that music is the only constant in our lives. People come and go, friends come and go, people we love die, or just move on. But the music is always there.

This video is from 1994, but this beautiful song was actually written by Dan Hill much, much earlier, in 1973. It was first released in 1977. It went to #1 in Canada and hit #3 on the Billboard Charts in the U.S.

I am Canadian and this song came out when I was 15. I will be 62 in August. Loved this song then, love it even more today. ❤❤❤

My husband of 9 years passed away without warning November 19, 2019 it's only been 2 months since he left me to go be with God. He used to sing this song to me. I miss his voice, I miss him holding me, I miss him loving me, I miss everything about him. I wish that he was here with me. We have an 8 year old son together and he misses him everyday. With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, my husband is no longer suffering I will love and miss him dearly. This song hits close to home and touches my heart so deeply 💔 I don't know if I will ever be able to go on without my husband. He was the love of my life! RIP my love. my wife of 21 years died without warning on june 7th of 2019 the day before our 22 anniversary. this was the song I took 6 months to learn to sing at our anniversary party. instead I sang it at her funeral.

On the gold wedding celebry of my parents, very late night, all the guests gone, I put that song on the player and first my parents danced with each other and my young wife with me. During the song, we changed partners, my Dad danced with my wife and my Mum with me............ One of the greatest moments of my life.....................

I bought Dan Hill’s album’Longer Fuse’ which had this song, back in 1977. I actually gave a 45 to a boyfriend as a break up song. We broke up but I believe he loved that song long after I was gone.

Cant remember what I had for breakfast but can sing every word after 40 yrs....

My father loved my mother so much!! She lived to be 84 and passed away from Alzheimer's.. We kept her at home for as long as we could, but the last few months she was in a nursing home. He would stay the entire day with her. And then four years later my father passed away from congestive heart failure at 89. They loved each other so much. My daughter, granddaughter and I took care of both of them in their home. We'd love them so much. My father was like a father to my granddaughter. He got to see her go off to college, but passed away right before she graduated. We were so blessed to have them ❤️

I used to thing this was a cheesy love song before I heard the backstory: "In an interview with ANC's 'Headstart' on Thursday, the Grammy winner recalled being 'madly in love with a woman' when he penned this song, but that love was not reciprocated. 'She was interested in another man, so that was breaking my heart. So I thought I needed to write a song that would capture her and win her over-that would be so passionate in a sense that she’d see that I’m the only guy for her,' said Hill. 'I wrote her the song and I played it over the telephone, and she said ‘that song is just too intense for me. I’m going to the States with the football player.'" And I gained a new respect for Dan Hill and this song. He poured his heart out, believed every lyric, and in that context, not cheesy at all. Sometimes you think, "oh they're just saying words on paper to try and purposely melt hearts", but after hearing that, wow, that shit came straight from the soul and was 100% sincere.

I had to play this again, yesterday afternoon I went over to see my grandpa. I knocked on the door and went in ( I have a key ) I told him yesterday I was gonna stop by and take him out to dinner when I got off work. I found him on the floor, I called for help .. the EMT's said he must have died earlyer in the day.

An amazing artist! Dan served as a staple for awesome music in the 80s! I was 17, when this came out. Now at 56, I can still feel the raw emotions, but the song is just as fresh! Thanks Dan for communicating through song our I felt as a teenager in love!
